can you really ever be finished modding?
So anyone else finished modding their z? I'm more of a minimalist, and think less is better.I thought about installing test pipes and nismo intakes but decided against it. What do you do when you're done? I look forward to my monthly z wash and the unveiling of the next z.

For many, once the modding slows down and they get settled in to the car, they get anxious, get new car fever again, and then trade the car for something else. Then, the modding starts all over again.

I want HFC's now. I am trying to resist the urge. |
Yeah I have been wanting another car but I wouldn't trade in the z.

There's also another way to tell when you're done modding...when your wallet is completely empty :icon17: |
I think so, speaking for myself. I have been very patient waiting for my 2012 370z (still waiting for Vin#). My salesman and another guy that works at the dealership i'm getting my 370z from really tried to convince me to just get a 2011, checked their 370z inventory numbers at auto trader's website and they have 17 sitting on the lot, no 2012's of course. With the changes that have been made to the 2012, i am so glad i waited. My mods will be K&N drop ins, Tanabe cbe, Tanabe y-pipe ( i chose Tanabe after months of researching cbe's), and GTR Button (here at home waiting for installation). I was going to go with Tanabe sway bars too but the 2012 model is supposed to have a more refined suspension, as one of the changes for next years model, i think it's the same changes that Nissan made on the 2011 nissan GT Edition in Europe.

I know I'm done cause I've run out of OEM parts to replace, paint, or things to bolt on!

At that point, you better hope you invested well in going fast |
NEVER! Unless you are so rich you can buy every dream mod in one order? The answer is no. Lol
|
ive not done much of any real mods on my Z as the car is setup pretty well for street in stock form. i just customized areas that bothered me...and dressed her up a little to make my Z my own.
|
One can be done, just make a plan and stick to it.
No plan then there is no end. |
Modding is like the mafia, you say you're out but you get pulled right back in. :icon17:
I truly am done though, there is nothing else I want. |

honestly, I really love this car so trying to "pace" myself on the mods...always want so much in a short amount of time but really trying to ration them out lol
next year will be more exterior stuff...unlike with others lesser cars I've had in the past...I feel there is less I need to do to the Z to make me feel better about my ride I get bored, I'll start modding the wife's BMW lol |
You are only done modding when you run out of money. :icon17:

When I got my 2003 Mustang GT back in 2003, I told my dad the stock exhaust sounded awesome and I was definitely just going to leave the car stock. A month later I had a Magnaflow cat back on it.
When I bought my Z and showed it to my dad, I told him it was pretty darn near perfect and I'd leave it stock. We all know how that turned out. On 8-21-10 I told the OGs regarding the 5.0: Quote:
