By plumbing, they probably mean the coolant lines. I am pretty sure we can make it work, despite that. I seriously doubt that Nissan changed internal plumbing on the block

Ladies and gentleman, below I give you... the 2012 Nissan 370Z OEM water-to-oil cooler. Sorry for the dark picture, but this is from a dealer who was nice enough to put a 2012 Z on the lift and snap the pic.

Rep for snagging the picture. Does this look kind of cheesy though?

Cheap, easily fixed/repairable and they get to say the words 'oil cooler.'

Thanks for the reps! It's the same solution they use on the majority of cars that need oil cooling so I guess we should not be surprised. I believe most of the larger vehicles in their fleet have similar items. I also did not want my oil running all around the place so I am glad to have another option to explore.

Our cooling system is pretty robust, thermostat opens at 180*F, cooling fans kick on at 212*F and off around 200*F, so the water temp control should contribute to cooling the oil some. Nothing like an aftermarket air cooling setup, but I doubt they would take the time to add it and not test to make sure it did something.

Repped for getting the pic. Wonder how well this will work and hoping it can be retrofitted easily. Hoping I can get this for cheap and hold off on getting an aftermarket oil cooler so I can at least get some track time.

I'll probably give it a shot (combined with my 19-row setrab + mocal thermo plate) as soon as I can verify the correct water plumbing and the part is available through Nissan parts depts.

Ignore the part number for the brake cooling parts, the guy misunderstood me and looked up the chassis brace kit (Nismo).
