Default 370Z Final Point of Assembly

I live in SC and all the 370Z's at my local dealer have conflicting information on the window stickers. The larger detailed window sticker on the passengers window has the Final Assembly Point in Jacksonville and there is a smaller postcard sized sticker on the lower passengers side of the front window that lists the Final Assembly Point as Kaminokawa, Tochigi, Japan.

Anybody know which is correct.

If you look at your VIN number, it will start with JN1, japan (final point of assembly, N (nissan) and 1 (passenger vehicle),

Nissan USA (the importer) usually performs some work and accessory additions (like splash gaurds etc.) at the port of entry ......In this case I'm assuming Jackconville, so that would technically be the "Final" assembly point.

Yep. The Zs in this area (which would be a LOT closer to Jacksonville) have Los Angeles as the port of entry and the "final assembly" point.

Hard to believe they're TRUCKING Zs thousands of miles, all the way from Los Angeles, when they could ship them to Jacksonville.

If Nissan's port of entry is similar to BMW VPC, it's mostly just a vehicle inspection and preparation for the dealer. Shipping damage does appear to be common though and many cars receive paint correction due to this.

In terms of actual assembly though, I don't think that would occur at port unless there was a large amount of shipping damage.

as mentioned the US city is just the port of entry, but they do install some of the options, like splash guards, spoiler, mats......

as for the ones from LA to TN, the ship gets in to the LA port about 1 week before the ship would make it to Jacksonville, so it is probably more of a scheduling thing depending on when they want some of the cars to get to their destination.

Not to mention that most cargo ships built these days are too big to fit through the Panama Canal.

The Jacksonville assembly point means some options got put on.. A lot of ports will throw on some options if the dealer has the request going in on the cars. Our cars are built from the ground up in Japan.
