if you dont NEED to have limited slip and real breaks along with it then dont get it. IMO i wouldnt think about owning one without it. i drove a standard z and it turned me off to the point of almost steering away from a z...

Worth the money as part of the sport package. Cool feature for novice drivers to save wear and tear on the clutch and motor. No real downside at all! I always buy my cars fully loaded, every option available as a rule. I enjoy it and it makes my HKS exhaust sound soooo good!

Sport package comes with synchro rev, larger wheels that look better, VLSD, bigger brakes (performance is probably negligible), and front & rear spoiler. (front spoiler is barely noticeable, but the rear completes the look IMO).

Like Mike Z, is my first manual car and makes it feel good to downshift perfectly every time

The sports package is without question a good deal. I have heel toed for a life time and because of SRM I realized you can blip the throttle as fast and smoothly manually. Now this is cool. To do it as perfectly every time still eludes me, but I am even better as a result.

Get the sports package now. You can not get it later.

IMO heel/toe is difficult when braking lightly in most cars due to pedal height and how much "bite" you get with very light brake application. If you are screaming into a tight turn hard on the brakes the angle of your foot is probably good for blipping the throttle and matching revs, but not so much when gently slowing down like you do in typical street driving.

SRM does it all the time, even when it doesn't matter that much. Still great for wear & tear on the syncros and clutch.

I am considering a 2012 base model, but the Synchro Rev has captured my imagination (my experience with controls systems cause my mind to go into overdrive when I see Synchro Rev). That being said, I have been driving a MT 240SX for 16 years, so I am wondering if that extra $ could be better spent.

Please weigh in if you own a Z with Synchro Rev and state that you have this option: I would like to be able to identify opinions from S-Rev owners.

BTW, I've read a couple of threads and the quality of postings and people seems much better than any other auto community. Kudos.
I've only ever tried it on my car twice in over two years of ownership. It's ok, but I don't use it.

It took days to stop heel toeing along with the new SRM. I had done it so long it was second nature. After a shot time I could enjoy SRM. I still switch back and forth just for fun and to not lose my touch.

Considering you've only driven the car a half dozen times... that's not too bad!

It was worth it for me because I do not plan to mod the sh*t out of my car, only a few here and there. If you are one of those guys who is going to heavily modify you car, I would say pass on the sport package.

ive been driving MT's pretty much forever and do heel and toe like any seasoned MT driver out there. even so i think SRM is worth it mainly because the Z has throttle lag (latency). there's a slight delay from the time you press the throttle to when it actually responds.

if you get use to it it's really no big deal but when i need to make unexpected sudden gear changes the Z doesn't respond fast enough to my blip throttle input like say, my G35C can. with SRM, the blip comes very quickly so this helps greatly in such case. and being a musician i HATE latency...

that said, SRM is a great feature for my Z driving.

I have the Sport Package but never use the feature. I just wanted a base model with M6 and Sport Package option. In case I someday decide to sell the car and someone like yourself wants a Z with the Sport Package.

All the other options are nice but generally a Mehhhhhh for me. To each their own.
