I might get slightly bigger front wheels in the future just to dial out some of the annoying understeer on the track.

I see this as viable car in Japan and Europe. Need to consider Yen verses USD isn't helping this cars price here.
Even at around $150k it's fairly reasonable for turn key factory racer. Current price for new Porsche GT3 cup car starts at $210k USD. They have really done awesome job addressing key weaknesses in the z34 platform. Very well focused on every issue I'm aware on this car. I do wonder if they addressed the oil pump gear issue with a billet gear set? Is the car seam welded? Rear diff and tranny cooling, real Bosch system to control systems ( that's $8k option alone). the cage is awesome. Anyone who has built a race car from production car will appreciate what Autech has don here. They have put a ton of engineering and development into this turnkey race car. Little items like no undercoating are nice touches too! I'm sure main markets for the RC are in Japan and Europe touring car and endurance series. 370z seems to do well in UK touring car series. A race team in UK could just buy 3 cars and not have to hire as many employees to build and design cars. You have to consider economics of bigger sponsored race teams when considering this price. Turn key race cars pay for themselves. I noted maintenance contract available as well. This would allow you to have truly factory supported car. Also from spare standpoint you can go to Nismo and just order parts that fit right on the car. No special fabrication etc. There's some real merit to that if youre in a serious race series. Having seen amount of time, resources etc in US based Grand Am teams I can assure you race teams would be hard pressed to sell a 370z grand am car and make any money at $150k. Probably closer to $200k or more. FYI the RC car doesn't have enough motor to be competitive in the Grand Am Conti series. Those cars make well over 400 hp and are spinning over 8500 rpm. Biggest question I have is can we get these parts through Nismo USA? I'd love rear diff cooler, AC delete plate, some of interior pieces, etc Last edited by Shamu; 10-15-2011 at 12:06 PM. |

I sent them an email about the brake ducts and they replied saying none of the parts are nor will be available for retail. That is to nismo japan though.

We sell the front bumper carbon fiber ducts only to the customer who bought the car. The same applies to the rest of the parts. And we wont sell them separately in the future as well. Yeah once they have sold a few cars I bet this will change. I want that exhaust system too. I have received similar emails from this same gentleman only to find access to Nismo part he said wouldn't be available in US here a couple months later.
I'd love to use Nismo factory parts on my car. |

I'd love to put some of these Nismo parts (esp brake ducting kit) on our car. HOWEVER, maybe you guys could create a "Z1 Brake ducting kit" similar in design to this Nismo one that us folks could purchase from y'all.

Couldn't care less about Nismo. Their parts are too overpriced and underperforming. If some parts do trickle down to the production 370z I'm sure they will have a hefty mark up in price and won't be any better than aftermarket parts already available e.g. exhaust, oil coolers, brakes, etc.

all the market needs is some good ol pictures of these systems and replicas can be made for a reasonable about. the nissan engineers put in the R&D, so im sure these oil cooler/brake duct designs are some of the best around.

Hmm, I wonder how this car would fair against some shop built race cars and member track dedicated cars we have on there.

Does anyone know where to either buy this front bumper or where to buy the intake pieces? And can someone advise if the ducts are for cold air intakes or are they for the breaks? Thanks in advance,
