OBD reader problem

I have a program on my computer (Laplogger) that reads and can reset OBDs. It will read my wife's Toyota but says it cannot connect with the 370z's ecu. Are

It will read my wife's Toyota but says it cannot connect with the 370z's ecu. Are Nissan's ecus different from other manufacturers? Thanks for any help.
