Default Bag stuck to y-pipe

hey guys. the other day I ran over a shopping back, and it got stuck to my y-pipe underneath the car. I managed to pull it off but some of the plastic melted right onto the pipe. now for the past couple of days, once the car warms up, I can still smell burning plastic. is there anything I can do besides wait for it to melt off? cheers!

I hit-than ran over- a deer once. Lots'o fur stuck to the exhaust system. Tried to spray it off but just letting it burn off was the only way. Took maybe 200 miles.

I suppose you could let it get cold and then try to chip it off with a paint scraper or something.

that happened to a buddy of mine when he had his Z28..... he got the majority of the bag off but then let the remainder just burn off. ever since then, i try to avoid the flying bags at all possible cost....

It will take a while but eventually it will stop smelling. You can also do what ken suggests.

I had this happen to me on my Civic. What I did was drive the car around for a couple mins enough to get the pipes hot. I then parked the car and jacked it up while the pipes were still hot. Pair of thick gloves and a razor of some sort and just scrape it off. Having the pipes still warm makes scraping it off a lot easier than when it hardens and fuses with the exhaust.

You mean '11 370Z and '12 Altima. Size doesn't matter here.
