It's a heat recovery hybrid. They plan to use the oil system!

i think personally this is a stupid idea... this will absolutely drive the weight up near 4,000 pounds putting it out of any contention with any sports cars in their price range. maybe they should think about doing it with the g37 instead and leave the Z to be a true sports car

I'm sure a lot of thought would need to go into the design of the car since the batteries would add a lot of weight and would maybe only add another 50HP.

Default 370Z hybrid

Actualy we were the ones that broke with the story first at 370z.com, it ticks me off that only about half of the other sites gave us credit with the story,

If you want to read more about the details got to 370z.com and check it out.

If Nissan does it, it will not be a joke. The hybrid system has the potential for well over 400 hp with a big fat torque curve all in a package that weighs a few hundred lbs less than a GT-R.

With Obama's new CAFE regulations, this might be the only way to keep the dream alive for us enthusiasts.

Read it and think....

370z with Hybrid???? That sound not so efficient.
I heard 370z has same gas mileage as corvette C6.
Why is that? 3.7L vs 6.2L = Same? it's odd eh?
