Depending on your area it may go up even more. When I was 18 I bought a brand new RSX-S and my insurance on it alone was about 1800 a year. But I also started driving since 16 with no points on my record. I remember my cousins when they turned 16 their dads bought them new 30k+ sports car. One of them had a s2000 and his rate was more than 2000.
