Change oil before or after winter storage?
Hey guys,
My Z currently has 2500 miles on the clock and I was wondering if it is recommended to do my first oil change this fall before I put it away for the winter (will probably be around 3200 miles by then) or just wait until spring and change it first thing? |
Holy smokes!!! You beat me to it! Mine has about 3500 and is due to go for a nap in October. Was wondering the exact same thing!

Change before store. On the off chance you have some water and other contaminates in your used oil, it would sit in the engine for a few months un-used. Clean oil sitting there instead means no contaminates sitting in there :)

change after hibernation. no meaning changing before. just run it to 180F+ , fillup, pressure up, battery manager. done.

Oil is cheap. Do it before and after.

My husband takes care of our cars. I asked him and he said oil and filter change before storage. Here are a few useful links to storing a car.
