If you look at the final results, they are just so subjective. Having driven a GT, it's nowhere near a Z let alone better in areas such as "chassis balance".
The EVO, while fast, is still not a sports car.

This entire article feels like it was written by a forum troll.

Ex 370Z owner here and i can tell you that the 5.0 its completely on par with the 370z in the handleing dept and brembo beats it...its just a diff feel to the vehicle

i have no idea why this would be a "sad" thing, lol

I've driven and auto-x the 5.0, I could concur.

I disagree about the handling beats the 370z. The Z has the edge. Disappointingly (for me), the advantage of handling for the Z is not very much (if you want quantitative, probably like 15%) where the only thing that gave the Z the advantage is probably the weight.

Brembo brakes, however, is by far superior to the Akebono's that the Z has. Despite having many sessions with the Z in Auto-X, the 5.0 GT, after a few runs, were able to pretty much surpass my time on my stock Z due to its brakes (both cars have potenza tires, the GT has pole positions).

Every car has its problems, luckly the Z's problems can be fixed real easy not sure about the EVO.

MX-5: 99.4

So, it's 2nd fastest car around the track? That's really all I needed to see. Even with all the "problems" they encountered with the 370Z it still went around this track faster than the 1st place evo (and by almost a second)?

See now, just seeing those times alone should make you question how C&D does their tests. They bitch about the oil and braking issues (and yes, they can be problems), but then the car goes off and gets 2nd place in the times that matter, the track.

I like the evo, and I like the Z. If you own either you are definitely not "losing". They are both really solid cars. However, everyone seems to skip over the fact that even the tranny on the evo did, in fact, overheat as well. Why does everyone ignore that fact?

Am I mad at Nissan for not putting an oil cooler on the car? Sort of, but even in south florida when having fun on open roads, I have yet to hit limp mode. Hell, I have yet to go over 220 degrees in my year + owning the car.

Another thing, I see people throwing around the the 370Z came out advertising it is TRACK READY...

Where? Please, show me where Nissan says "the new 370Z is track ready."

Nissan doesn't really directly advertise the car much. Indirect ads, though....

The use of the term in all these rags means it is probably dropped a lot in nissan's press pack. Most of us will never know though.

5.0 owners that said it handled better than the Z, you know you are biased. i drove the 5o many times, it felt like a pig that it is. the steering is so numb and disconnected. over all the car is way too heavy. yes it is a lot faster than the z in acceleration, it literally obliterates z. it sounds tons better as well. but to say it handles better? come on, it felt more like a cruiser than a sports car.

You are holding Nissan responsible for what Automags say in their reviews? That does not compute.

To be accurate, the 370Z limits RPM's at 280 degrees. We have no idea if the 350Z gets to the same temps because it didn't limit RPM's at 280 degrees. It's an engine safety feature, not an actual overheating issue. No one is boiling over on the side of the track.
