Average miles on car...

this sounds like a stupid question... I own a 2009 370z and I just hit 38,000 miles on the clock... do you all think this is excessive for the year???

Seems normal. I put around 1k per month on mine

It is going into storage in 3 months when winter sets in here.

Did u buy it new in 2009 or did it have miles on it already ? If you bought it new and you put on close to 40k in less than 3 years I would say it was a lot. Look at this way... 1000 miles x 12 months = 12k miles per yr x 3 years = 36K. and that would be if you had it for a complete 3 years, So your putting on more than 1000 miles a month or approx 250 - 300 miles per week on avg,, Yeah I think that would be a bit much at that rate u will get to 100K in no time... but then again..why did we buy it for.... enjoy

I bought mine brand new in Oct of 09 and I have 19500. But I am in the Navy and I have deployed twice for six months in the time since then. So if I hadn't deployed twice I would have had way more. I think that's about avg.

I have an 09 model that I bought seven months ago. Whoever had it before me barely drove it, since I got it with <6000 miles on it. Since then I've put about another 6k on it, so I just hit the 12k mark.
Last week I bought an old pickup that will replace the car for my daily commute. It is a little difficult to justify a car payment for a car that will only be driven on the weekends, but I only spent $1600 on my truck. I figure I'll make back that $1600 if I ever decide to sell the Z, since I'll be saving a lot of mileage and wear and tear on it.

The avg. mileage on a car is 15k per year. I've owned my car for 18 months now and I still havent hit 10k yet

I purchased mine in July of ’09 and have only 6k miles on it.

I have a Ford E-250 daily driver. I only paid a grand for it. So this is what I drive when it rains or if I need to park in a busy parking lot. The best thousand bucks I've ever spent!

My Z only sees the weekend sunshine.

I've got 4500 miles on mine.. had it since April. But that includes a 1700 mile round-trip to South Carolina... and a few trips to Syracuse (probably 1500 miles altogether).
