That pesky part of protect and serve. I hope that's not the collective thought process of most cops.

The only good kind of cop is the kind that doesn't issue tickets. I mean on top of a broke nation, unconstitutional taxes, and wonderful things like the current administration along with it's "Patriot" Act, I gotta worry about getting pinched for going 10 over or no front plate?

C'mon.

Some tickets are reasonable IMO.

I've been on the receiving end of some ridiculous tickets (63 in a 60, on a downhil), but most officers are pretty reasonable people, just doing their job.

No front plate makes cops harder to identify the vehicle driven. I like the idea of cop cars with license plate readers to automatically mark which vehicles were stolen.

Going over 10, I've been on the receiving end from a car. Different being hit by a car going 25 and going 35 is pretty huge.

Dude, I have little patience dealing with people in stupid domestic "he cheating on me, so I grab my brother to beat him up" sort of drama. Gives me brain cramps. I applaud if you have to deal with that round the clock.

My limit is 15 over unless its a school zone or nasty conditions. I rock a front plate so everyone else should as well.

Well respect for the job that you do. I wouldn't want to deal with half that stuff either. I just think some tickets are nonsense (and others completely warranted, ie the school zone).

But let's get the vehicle code sorted out when it comes to things like front plate. It's not required in certain states yet in others it is? I don't get it.

My vehicle's not stolen. I've never even been arrested. Why do I need to be identified? I'd say in my neck of the woods (especially Manhattan Beach) where cops definitely use those things, stolen cars are rare rare rare. All sorts of other revenue however... well I guess it's just that much easier to figure out who's tags are out. Cheap.

I think the front plate required is ridiculous. My town has a ton of Pennsylvania and Delaware cars go through it and there is no front plate required in those states. Then you have inspection stickers and ahhhhhhhh! So many different things. Now in NJ vehicle inspections are for emissions only. The equipment is on you to check and maintain. NJ is a mess.

Not all state has front license plates, which I really don't see the purpose.

I'd love to agree with this, but... My local police department has not only ordered new vehicles in midnight blue with interior mounted light bars, they've gone through the trouble and expense of repainting the existing white vehicles and retrofitting them with interior light bars.
These "stealth" police cars are impossible to see, which leads me to believe that having a visual "presence" to keep the township and its roadways safe has taken a back seat to using ambush tactics to catch and ticket drivers.
