School me on Fail-Safe mode

Hello all,

I'm new to the Z and was reading thru the manual. What, in the name of all that is holy, is Fail-Safe mode?

Is this the Ice-Mode that everyone speaks of?

you mean limp mode?

ice mode is braking and keeps going... i thinks.

Extreme rev limiting...I have no experience with it though

Oil temp = 280
-First level of limp mode, revs limited to around 5k

Oil temp = 300
-Second level of limp mode, revs limited to around 3k

It is an engine fail safe.

Then Nissan will tell you that you either are running the car too hard or to get an oil cooler...
