I put locking type bolts when I use to live in a sketchy area after someone stole my plate. Use the allen wrench type at least. Most theives won't carry allen wrenches around and will move on to another car.

That is how I would do it since they are getting harder to steal with all the cuts in them. |

I've thought about using that excuse (my plate got stolen) if I ever get pulled over for having no front license plate. I highly doubt they'll buy it though. |

Taking the whole plate means you probably stole whatever you're driving. Common theme is to steal your plate, and replace it with the previous plate you stole. Takes longer for you to notice a different plate as opposed to it being missing, which gives me more time to use your plate before it is reported. I don't understand why we would want to see pics of OP's missing plate though. Doesn't sound very interesting. |

The way I see it... only two possible answers...
1) They stole your license plate so that they can steal your tag. The 2011 sticker or whatever sticker you got. 2) And personally I think it might of fell off while your driving but you just didn't notice it. It has to be one or the other. My dad told me when putting on your tag in your license plate make sure to get a knife and cut it in multiple ways so that they can't peel it off. Mine looks like a checker board =) |
