Default went to the 1/4 mile track

Best run for the night was 13.497 @ 102.13; did 6 runs

-Completely stock
-Base auto non sport
-Without removing any spare tire or...
-Damp sticky 85 degree Florida weather

The tiny tires can't pick up much traction off the line with preloading (2500rpm) or without. Actually, I found out just stepping on the gas without proloading spins much less.

Using paddle shifters shaves about 1/10 or 2/10 seconds compared to putting in auto mode

Dropping the PSI from 37 to 26 actually makes the car spin much more off the line and lose about 2/10 second

Anyone else with stock 1/4 mile times? Specifically Auto with sport package

Bonus: 2011 Camero 3.6L V6 with 312hp is very slow I know it weights 500 pounds more.
Best that car ran was 15.57@ 89 mph, Auto

My best stock with my auto was 13.30 and that was with 32psi on the tires and launching about 3k rpms on a 75deg day.....

with exhaust and test pipes with drop in filters I ran a 12.9 on a 40deg day spinning bad very bad off the line.... and into second...

In regards to the Camaro, his slow time was due to driver error and not the car. The current V6 Camaro is good for low 14's. The new 2012 with increased power should have it capable of 13.9.

I remember my first time at the track with my 06 WRX I ran 15.9. It wasn't until I got used to the car and learned to drive it that I managed a 13.9. Just because you have a car capable of xx.xx time doesn't mean you can drive it that way.

As for your question I believe the fastest time for an automatic 370z is 13.1

I think the bigger rear 275 definately would help with the time. My car ran consistantly in the 13.49- 13.6 range. Maybe its the damp air also...we will see during the winter

I plan on going this fall when the temps get around 60 deg and its not so humid out, along with some new tires I should see mid 12's with my car as is......

those are good track results for a new car with no mods, maybe with more time at the track you can get a little faster times...

How much do these cost?
Sometimes I think I am really good at shifting but sometimes I am just horrible.
Does it cost by day or by runs?
and nice job!

Typically the local drag strip will charge 10-20 bucks for the night (usually it runs from 6pm to 12pm but every track varies). Out here in Vegas it's 10 bucks to run or 5 bucks to watch. Back in California I used to go to LACR (it's now closed) and that was 15 bucks to run or 10 to watch. You get as many runs as you want or as time allows. On a busy night you may only get 2-5 runs, but on on a not so busy night you can get much more. I know I've done 18 runs in one night before when not busy and I could have done more but figured I was finished. Then there have been times when I only got 3 runs. Just depends on how busy it is the night you go. For the price you won't find a cheaper way to have fun with your car. It's best to try and go at first opening your first time as thats when it's usually the least busiest. That way you can get a couple runs it to work out the nerves and get a feel for how the track is prepped that night. Typically my first run is just to work out the adrenaline and nerves. My 2nd run is to get an idea of the prep. After that it's all about the launch and shifts. Also for you first time watch a couple cars go through so you see how to stage. Nothing worse than watching a newb try to stage for the first time.

Very nice. Looks like the advice I gave my former roommate is solid: The 370Z is just like a C5 corvette performance-wise, except it's better executed in every way.

What were your 60' times?

very nice...what was your 60ft time? must have been around 1.8? You should teach some of the local guys here how to race. A local member with a bunch of mods was running mid/high 15's...lol.

I disagree with the first part of this. My C5, when it was stock, would have out-performed my new 370 in every aspect. I squeezed a 12.23@111.23 out of the C5 in bone stock condition (with drag radials); 11.51@118.50 with headers/intake. Granted, few C5 owners know how to drive their car to its fullest potential so my times are certainly an outlier. Same goes for handling. I could hit a corner much more confidently in the stock C5 than I could my 370. With basic suspension modifications, the 370 will be right where the C5 was when it was stock.

I will say, however, that stock for stock, the 370 is considerably more enjoyable and rewarding to drive. It is much more refined than the C5 and I don't regret the purchase one bit. For the days when I need break-neck power, I'll pull out the Vette; but, I look forward driving the 370 to and from work every day.
