Help with Aftermarket Steering Wheel Install

Ok, so I got the DIY how to remove the steering wheel - but could not find how to install an aftermarket one. Currently I have a MOMO Trek Steering

Exclamation Help with Aftermarket Steering Wheel Install

Ok, so I got the DIY how to remove the steering wheel - but could not find how to install an aftermarket one. Currently I have a MOMO Trek Steering wheel, NRG Short Hub and NRG Quick Release 2.5. There are a butt-load of wires, I'm just afraid of seeing that SRS indicator. Any advice/instructions would be greatly appreciated as well as professional installer recommendation around San Diego. Pics are below.

Nah, my Z is a DD. I got tired of the OEM steering wheel being all leather.

Why don't you just get it recovered then by an upholstery shop? Suede or alcantra are options.

Only thing I'm thinking about right now is, if your steering wheel doesn't have an airbag? If a cop pulls you over? You will get a massive ticket and/or possibly towed, depending on state or you just won't pass inspection. Once you add one of those lightweight steering wheel systems on a car its automatically considered an off road car. Something to consider before going through the install. Wrapping or modifying the existing steering wheel is probably a better option imho.

Source for your claim?

Legally, you may have a shop remove a functional airbag only with cause(ie, too short), but you may personally remove it without issue.

The real issue to worry about is your insurance company, since they can refuse to cover injuries resulting from the missing airbag (state farm didnt care last I checked, ymmv). And then of course, the risk of killing or seriously injuring yourself, but that's a decision for you to make.

Here's a whole discussion on the issue. But from I been told.. cars after 1989 must have airbags for on road use. You can remove your steering wheel for off road use. On tracks and road courses its legal to do anything to your car. maybe I'm wrong? But it seems I'm not the only one that has been told this. So if you can find a link that disproves this that ACTUALLY WORKS? Kool.

Even that thread addresses they are srs items, you may personally remove them and still be federally legal.

They are also required to fail everyone with test pipes and HFCs, and we all know how that goes.

werd law cause if you're a short person and kinda cling to the steering wheel while driving, chances are this person will die from the airbag deploying in their face vs the impact from another car or wall or tree or pole or watever such people crash into.

To answer your question, there make kits so you can just quickly/easily wire it up, similar to how audio systems are done.
Shoot Baker Tuning a PM on the forum, paul should be able to direct you to the part of how to do it.

for the SRS you should have 2 resistors for them to trick the srs that there is some load.

i believe these airbags are dual stage like the previuos Z and G.

This is which I have no clue how it will insert on the sensors. It looks easy but last thing I want to happen is the srs indicator turned on and wont come off.
