From 370Z to 2011 Lexus IS-F
Opinions?
I test drove the IS-F yesterday and financing is already lined up, but i just can't seem to pull the trigger. At first i thought the choice was simple, but the Lexus just seems to be missing the WOW factor that my Z has. And although it's got a 5 liter V8 and supposedly can run a mid 12 in the 1/4 mile stock... it doesn't seem that fast and even with the paddle shifters is kind of boring to drive. Interior is prestine. I love the luxury feel of it and when you do want to step on it.... it definitely goes. The handling is also amazing for the 2011's. Lexus really stepped their game up on the IS-F in that respect. The question is... is it worth 60k+ and worth getting rid of "Lola".

Well, luxury takes away that road feel. It is a fast car, and it is plush.
imo no toyota is worth 60 clams, but that's a matter of opinion, and only you know if trading a 2-seat agile sports car for a four-seat luxo box with a big engine is worth it for you. also imo those vossens look terribad on that car, but again, personal preferences vary. |

These cars are in two completely different relms. Pure sports car vs. luxury/sport 4 door. You need to evaluate what you're looking for in a car....something more practical with a punch, or an impractical sports car that is much more fun to drive. On a side note, if your gonna spend that kinda $, why not look at the cts-v instead? Same price point, more aggressive styling, more power, and same luxury feel.

If you are thinking of an ISF then get the better car the M3 BMW. Then you can have the wow factor back.

Every corner you take you'll be thinking about how you're dragging that extra 7 inches of wheelbase and 500 lbs. of weight through it. But if you only care about driving in a straight line, then go for it.

The IS-F is a nice luxury sports sedan but it is not a sports car. If you want comfort and luxury then by all means get the IS-F. I thank you for being honest in your assessment of both cars. I knew it couldn't have been just me who felt that the IS just felt no faster and softer than the Z. I wouldn't trade my Z and OP if you are going to pay all that $ and not get that tickle from driving then don't do it. If you do the only reason you're going to rave about the IS-F is because you paid so much not because of the actual feel.

I looked at the M3's and the C63 AMG's. Based on the 74k price tag and interior... i decided that it wasn't an option. If i could buy the M3 as a toy, then that's another story.
