I also agree with "o0javi0o" that, those people who will buy a 370Z, do not care about gas prices. I have never said a single word about gas prices. That's the last thing on my mind. It's like asking a GTR owner if he is worried about 3000 dollar brake job.

I highly doubt gas prices will hit $3.50 by January but I can see it rising may be starting from April-May (or whenever we get those hurricanes :shakes head:)

I should also mention that, I WILL NEVER drive a hybrid. I hate hybrids with a passion.

You need to fill up around Rutgers, man. Gas is 1.99 for 93 at BP

gas prices are alrite here $2.21 for premium, i paid $29 to fill my tank as opposed to the $69 i was paying a few months earlier...even if gas was $5 a gallon again, its not stopping me from a Z

BanningZ,

Your point would very much be true,.... only if history stayed on the same course (imo). I hate to say it, but history likes to repeat itself. But I believed that this chance of repeating itself would be very slim because of 2 global issue has been introduced since the last repeat.

Global economic crisis and Global warming.

Never in history has these 2 topic been so big of a focus in everything we do these days. Its true that China is next in line to be the powerhouse that is going to consumed the oil, but hey....green technology is vastly available to their disposal also compared to the earlier days. Right now, the world need to gang up on the oil companies. I might be stretching it, but look at Dubai. Everywhere around the world are in crisis, and they have money to build all these crazy buildings and man made islands. They are making way too much money off of us.

I think the recent gas spike has everyone thinking about gas prices, but I think rather than buying a smart car or a diesel jetta, people are just realizing that ultra gas guzzler rap video cars like escalades and hummers are a bit unnecessary for most people, and that they can downsize to something smaller. Also, people are starting to car pool more, use public transportation, ride bikes or walk, and in general pay more attention to how much gas they use. We don't all need to buy super fuel efficient vehicles, we just need to be smarter about the way we use the ones we have. (and definitely stop using ridiculously big trucks and SUV's for non essential/work related driving)

So with that said, if gas was 5 dollars. I would still buy the Z and probably move closer to school/work, drive less, and use the bus more so I could get out and rip the B-roads on weekends.

But until then.... $1.53 for 87 in Ohio is fine with me

What does this mean for sales of the 370Z in the current world of rising oil prices, and the clambering for Hybrid technology?

If gas hits $5.00/gal will this change your outlook on purchasing a new Z?
OR
Will Nissan join the rest of the pack and, will we see a 25K base 370Z?

They are saying gas prices are likely to be $3.50/gal again by January, and could hit $4.75 by July 2009. :wtf2:

Thoughts?

still gonna drive my z
