I haven't had any experience with this, knock on wood. But I remember someone on the forum reporting hitting a deer..

This is the surprisingly mild damage from hitting a deer head on at 30 mph.

Beyond the hood, the front fascia was a little offset (no actual damage), but that's it. Dealer replaced the hood, the Nissan emblem, and the hood latch, and reset the fascia. Came to $1900 but I just paid my $400 deductible.

I had to pick the deer hairs out of the crevice between the headlight and the hood myself. :p

USMCASA, I know that Alchemy recently struck a deer and set his Z faired AMAZINGLY well. I'll see if I can find his post on it.

Ahhh, found it after some digging:

Yes, just cosmetic and not bad at all, or so it appears. It was dark, cop was an a-hole, just wanted to get home. I HATE deer, they are the worst and where I live there are tons of them. Driving down my road at night is like running the gauntlet. I knew this day was coming. There goes that spoiler I was bout to buy.

I had no choice but to run over a already small dead animal earlier in the year. Busted to pieces on my rear diff. Looked like bacon when I got home.

I hit a pretty good size deer head on about a year ago at about 40mph. Never even saw it. Had to replace the headlamps, hood, one fender, air bag, front facia, and the air conditioner but only because of a broken mount. Pretty much all cosmetic damage. The body shop did an amazing job on it. Word off advice, put the windows down asap after an air bag deployment. I couldn't see anything because of the dust and the car was still moving, lucky I hit the windows quickly. I have pics, maybe I'll see if I can find them. Overall I think the car faired pretty well with only minimal damage to some of the items that were replaced.
