how to tell base versus sport?

I bought an 09...it seems to be a touring model with no sports package but it has 19" Forge 245/275s...with base brakes. How can I tell if it has other components of the sports package or if it is just a base with bigger rims?
Thanks

Sprt Pkg comes with bigger Akebono brakes and 19 rays

sport package adds 19-inch wheels, a limited-slip rear differential, upgraded brakes, front and rear spoilers and the downshift rev-matching SynchroRev Match feature for manual-equipped cars.

Hello, im new to this forum. I basically signed the papers for my 370z and I am just waiting for delivery. Its a 2011. Question is: Texas nissan of grapevine did NOT have a base with NO sport package. ( this is what i was wanting) So they told me at one of their other lots they have a brand spanking new 2011 without the sport package ( KEY WORD~~>) BUT the newly built 370 base, that were just recently shipped here to the US. has the syncro match, the upgraded brakes, the RAYS wheels and the limited slip included. No Bose system or leather seats. I dealed with them for 31900.

I never heard of that. I though either your get the base with no sport package<~~ KBB.com fair price of 30825 or a base w/ a sport package <~~ KBB.com fair price of 33725. I can still back out of the deal. I just wanted some more opinions

That's a base with the sport package. Leather is the touring package.

If it has a manual transmission and the syncro match, it has the sport package. Period.

Look for the syncro match button on the console.

I can tell the difference because the driver of a Sport has a smile and the driver of the base has a frown. :stirthepot:

Thanks for all the responses! The reason I am confused is because the car has the spoilers and the 19" Rays but only has the base brake calipers...synchro rev match button I do not have as mine is a 7AT with the paddle shifters...so I need to look for the LSD...anyone has a photo of one or what is the best way to tell? I assume getting under the car but not sure how to tell the difference between the stock differential and the LSD.
Thanks for the help!

ha! whether a sport or not, I still drive my Z with a big-O smile on my face! :)

Spec Jay 08-07-2011 04:33 AM

yours is definitively a sport. Synchro-rev match is pretty much the main thing that seperates the 2.

not sure who took off the sport brakes, but I would be calling and bitching at someone.

CBRich 08-07-2011 06:49 AM

He has an auto so there's no SRM button either way. Someone could have just added the spoilers and wheels. The LSD or lack of thereof would be the best way to check.

One unquestionable way to find out, is the window sticker that comes on the car. Ask you dealer to NOT throw away the sticker and that you want it. The Sticker will tell you exactly what you have.

Good Luck !:driving:
