Default Ready to buy a 370z, quick question

I'm sorry if this has been asked before, but I wasn't able to find the answer. I'm in the process of selling my car and getting ready to buy a 370, but I've been looking, particularly on carmax/autotrader and I've noticed no one likes to list whether the car has the sports package or not. Now from what I understand, LSD only comes with the sport package. Ultimately all I'm interested in is the LSD. How can I tell if the cars I'm looking at have it or not?

Here is an example: http://cl.exct.net/?ju=fe29167870640...021576766506&t

Thanks, I apologize if this has been asked before.

It doesn't have the sport package...one of give aways is the wheels. The sport package has 19" wheels...this one has 18" wheels. The brakes are bigger on the sport package also.

Non sport: 18" BASE WHEELS TIRES & TPMS * Low Miles * Separated *

Thanks, am I correct that I can only get LSD with the sport package?

Yes,but you can change it yourself to a even better LSD,our standard are too soft, not much use anyway.

It'd definitely be cheaper to buy a base model and then upgrade later. Can you point me in the direction of some aftermarket LSD's? or even threads regarding installing them?

As the other poster said, the easiest way to tell is by looking at the wheels it has. Eventually you'll start to be able to tell based on the listed price.

The Sport models with manual transmissions also have the SynchroRev Match function; the base model does not. I don't believe you can add that to a non-sport model without spending a lot of money. Some like the SynchroRev, some don't, but I think its a pretty cool feature. Of course, if you are looking for an automatic transmission car, then its a moot point.

I think the Sport also comes with larger anti-sway bars too, but I'm not 100% sure about that.

If you want the bigger wheels, bigger tires, and bigger brakes, the Sport package is a great deal -- I would think you'd spend a lot more to upgrade a base model to a Sport than if you just get a Sport to begin with. If you only want the bigger wheels, and the rest doesn't matter, then the base would do just as well.

Cheers,
Kent

The sport model also has the spoiler included, but that can be added to as a Nissan option on a base - there is a small front spoiler you might see in person as well.

If you don't want the larger wheels + bigger brakes (+ spoiler + SRM) and don't mind getting it worked on, a base would save money. If you want the most of the add-ons though, the sport package is a good deal.

Actually, that may be on the Nismo, but not the Sport model.

OP, I've gotta be honest with you here...the Sport model is a fantastic bang for your buck. There are many, many members on this board that wish they'd taken the plunge and invested in it.

Op--

As many of the other have stated, rims/brakes/spoilers are the easy ways to tell.

I would urge you to reconsider if, as you say "all you want is the LSD."

There are many real LSD options out there for ~$1000. The one with the sport package is garbage.

Well the other options would be nice as well, but like I said my main concern is the lsd. I would like to track the car, and I know it would make a pretty nice difference.

If I can find a sport model for under 30k I might do it, otherwise I'll settle with a base.

Thanks for all the useful info guys, it really helps.

See my post above.

Tbh, I'd rather run an open diff than a viscous, since the heat issues you run into just aren't worth it. You can get a torsen diff for like $900 if you go with the base, vs 1100ish to add with the vlsd.
