Check out the SRT8 and Trailblazer SS for performance.

Otherwise, half-dozen one or the other.

The TBSS can be had for cheap, the SRT8 is much more rare. It is very nice though. Guy who wrapped my 'vette has one and loves it. Still, I have not had the greatest of experiences with Mopar reliability in the Jeep line. However, all of their SRT products have been hella stout, so maybe that makes it ok?

Neither will be light on the wallet in operating costs due to dreadful gas mileage, but I would personally go for a Jeep SRT8. After riding in my friends', I could not believe how quickly it launches from a dig but it does feel very heavy when the going gets twisty.

Dont know your price range but here are some ideas:

BMW X5 (Also believe there is an M version of one of the suvs)
a lady I work with has a brand new one and it is very nice and has a strong motor.

Jeep Cherokee
the new ones are very solid and well put together.

Mercedes G series
who doesnt like the G wagon?

Audi Q series, range rover, nissan armada, etc etc

X5 if it is your price range and under warranty.

Thanks for all the input guys I appreciate it.....gonna start looking soon and checking prices ill keep the forum updated if I decide to sell the Z or not

Jeez. I don't know what you do, but if you can swing a G55 like one poster suggested, just keep your Z and buy an addition!

I've heard the SRT can be a blast to drive, but you should check the reliability. It is terrible (Consumer Reports, JD Power). I can tell you from experience that the Infiniti FX is a great car. If you need more space, I have several friends and neighbors that have the new Infiniti QX56 and, without exception, they all really love it.

The new SRT8 Jeep is suppose to be crazy!!!!!!!!!! But I dont like american cars and trucks so I would say go with a V8 Pathfinder, Land Cruiser or Lexus version, QX56.

No one has mentioned Range Rover. One of their model's is rather sporty looking (for an SUV).

We actually took a look at the escalade, Denali and X5 for our recent (April) SUV purchase. I would suggest looking at the Land Rover LR4 or Range Rover Sport as well. After driving them all we bought a LR4 (HSE). It really is an a great car for transporting around people and stuff, very comfortable and luxurious. Drives well, and is easy to park. And of course you can do crazy off road things if you want, you should check out the Land Rover driving school, they teach you how to forge water that is 2ft and go through terrain you would never believe you can get through. Also I think both the LR4 and RR sport look great, and are not what you see everyone driving.

Cause he wants it to start and last a long time.

When ever in doubt go with the Miata.:bowrofl:

If it were me, I'd try to find a way to keep the Z and get a less expensive SUV. For all the performance of the above mentioned SUVs, none will have the overall handling performance of a Z. Kind of hard to take even a Cherokee SRT8 or G55 to autox.
