Cayenne is the best, but expensive. I have an Acadia/Outlook and it has 8 seats, good engine, 20mpg, excellent to drive and comfortable for 35k, a bargain.

It's going to be difficult going form a agile sports car to a SUV. The BMW X3 or X5 will drive most like a fun car and not SUV like. It is amazing when you take into consideration the weight and size of the SUV. Drive everything in your budget.
