Default 2011 370Z high clutch release

Ok,

So I am absolutely pumped about buying my new 370z I have been shopping all over trying to find the color package I like. I am looking for a White ( possibly blue ) 2011 base with sport package / manual transmission.

I found one at my dealer today and drove it but noticed the clutch did not release until probably 90-95% out. It seemed VERY high. This particular Z had 6000 miles on it and is the only manual 370 I have driven yet. It was not a dealer demo and was a trade in apparently . I've had a couple of opinions and many say it sounds like someone may have played a little too hard in the first 6000 miles then traded it in .

The dealer says that these settings are adjustable? I have a kind of hard time believing that . ( He did not know for sure )

I just want to make sure I don't by a turd.

Currently they are offering me 500 over invoice on a white sport manual coming in August. I feel like I should be able to buy one of these at invoice .. Am i mistaken ? I found one in MA for 32,999 which would actually reflect below invoice.

Also , what do you guys think of the blue is it harder to find then white?

They are, mine was that high when I bought my car and I lowered it about an inch.

Edit: It's actually in the instruction manual.

I am going to drive another one in town tomorrow to see if the clutch is near the same or completely different. Maybe I'm just used to nothing like this but its nearly uncomfortable ..

My clutch engages just before 50% of its travel. Didn't know it was adjustable but that's good to know.

Also, I just bought my 2011 roadster in May for $4652 below invoice. You definitely should be paying less than invoice in this market.

Hey Zman370, was that blue one at Baker Jackson North? If so, i test drove the base with automatic there 2 weeks ago (i'll be on the 2012 order list as soon as Nissan releases it). I received a call about the Monterey blue 370z you test drove, i think that's the one, pretty close in mileage.

theres nothing wrong with that clutch. thats how mine is too. i'd say mine is probably more like 80% or so but its still pretty high up. Same thing with the 370z i test drove. it takes some getting used to but it doesn't bother me anymore.

on my 09 the clutch's full engagment is about 50-65% of the travel. it starts engaging around 20-25%.

so if something doesnt seem right on that car you test drove, op...

Mine too

Stalled initially. Never now. It is funny how quickly we adjust.
