HELP REQUIRED!! Strange high pitched noise!!
My 370z is still virtually new and started to make a high pitched wining noise whilst parked on my driveway. At first I didn't realise it was my car (thought it was a neighbours) but after several hours when the noise didn't stop, decided to activate the remote un/locking then it stopped. The next day the car drove and felt normal so any ideas what this noise was? Think it may have been some kind of warning signal?? Any help appreciated. Thanks.

I did a quick search but the reports of the whine are cars that are running at the time. Mine was stood still on the driveway so is this still possibly the ECU? It's the first time it has done it in two years!

I had this problem. Yes it still made the noise even when sitting parked. Sometimes the noise wouldn't be there when the car was cold, but once it warmed up it returned. After just starting the car I could just push the gas just a little bit and the noise would start. Then let off the gas and it would stop. This is how mine was until the car warmed up and it would be on all the time.
I took it to two different dealers. One couldn't hear anything and said it was a mechanical noise after I told them it was an electronics noise. The second dealer ended up replacing the ECU, problem solved. On my receipt it said something about replacing the ECU according to a service bulletin. I'm fairly certain that Nissan is aware of the issue. The problem is finding a dealer that will recognize the problem. Hope that helped. |

Does anyone have ready access to this TSB and can post? I heard the whine (well, the wife did - my hearing's shot) several months ago. Wondering if this is at all heard on 2010 models?

i have a 2010 and i have the noise i think its the ECU overheating alarm. It has that same alarm on some thermostats at equipment that i use.

Strange this issue was supposed to be resolved in 2010. Either way, if you guys use the search button? You will find at least 100 ecu noise threads along with stuck hatch and the infamous oil temp issue.
