Shipping.
I'm on the verge of buying a 370z from New York and I live in Dallas, Texas. I got quotes from a few auto shipping companies and they all range from $900 to about $1000. I was wondering if you guys knew any companies that could do it and charge less. If you do know of any please tell.

If you can take a few days off work, driving the car back would be awesome. If not, $900 to $1000 seems like a fair price to me. A friend had a car shipped from the Southeast to AZ and it was about $900, this was last year.

It does cost a great deal for shipping across states, especially if you cannot take the time off to get it yourself and bring it back. I went through that a few weeks back when I was going to buy a Z that was in Washington State and I am in Maryland. The quotes I got back were about $1500 for an enclosed truck, and I highly suggest going with the enclosed truck because of weather and debris.

This is not something you want to go cheap on. If you go the shipping route you want to make sure you are using a reputable company which will probably cost a bit more.
Do a search for JeffBlue's story about shipping his 300zx to Florida.

Also I might add, if it's brand new and you want to follow nissans new engine break-in instructions, it's best to ship the vehicle. Driving long distances in a brand new car is against their recommendations
$1000 sounds pretty cheap. Over here our dealer spent $2000 shipping my moms FX35 from Montreal to Toronto. |

The dealer should be able to arrange for shipping it anyways, which is the way to go. Then you can evaluate condition on delivery, and there's less playing about who is to blame. I think koeppel Nissan said they could ship for $700. |

I would have to say depending on your area and what you are looking for, sometimes its easier to look far away and get it shipped. Here in MD it was a pain in the butt trying to find one that wasn't way overpriced. I was about 2 days away from buying the White 09 fully loaded Z in our "For Sale" place on the forums that was located in Washington St. Luckily I found one that just posted up in CT, so it was worth the 7 hour drive.
