Hey guys ive got some dumby questions here.. How many miles should i drive the car without going wide open throttel Ive herd 200 then 500 then 1500??? So how

Hey guys ive got some dumby questions here.. How many miles should i drive the car without going wide open throttel Ive herd 200 then 500 then 1500??? So how much throttel for how long is my question? My other question is After i do my CAI, HFC, Exhaust then im told i need to reset computer or something by unplugin battery im sorry i could be way off on this one but could someone clear that up and tell me what i need to do correctly? Thanks agian guys this is the most Helpful, Understanding, NOOB friendly forum ive been in..

There are a lot of varying opinions on this. Some people just drive it off the lot like they stole it. Some people try to stay under the 4-5k RPM range and half throttle for the first X miles, where X is anywhere from 500 to 2000. There's something to be said, too, for trying to both accel and decel a lot through all of the RPM range later during the breakin, to try to get all of the standard forms of wear accomplished. Sorry, I know that's not a clear answer. Your owner's manual has a section on this as well, I believe they say something like keep it under 4K and no flooring it for the first 1250 miles.

You really don't have to "reset" the computer, although with some mods you'll end up disconnecting the battery during the install process anyways. The computer will adapt either way, removing the negative battery cable for a few minutes just speeds up the process a little.
