370z @ the Track
Today was a really fun track day. With the addition of the oil cooler, exhaust, gen 3 cai, the car was a totally different machine. As you know my first track day with the Z was a total bust, bc of overheating issues, barely being able to hear the exhaust, and etc (don't want to offend anyone) lol.
Today, the car handled great and I'm excited for my next mods to fine tune the car even more. The oil temps didn't go over about 250, never went into limp mode. Wasn't even a concern. Don't mind my first couple of laps, I had to warm the car up and the tires. Also I apologize for no audio. I was using the gopro camera and took off the waterproof lens cover for better sound, but all I got was wind noise :-( It's too bad you can't hear the shifting or exhaust. Nonetheless, here's a link to the youtube clip. YouTube - SM 370Z @ NJMP LIGHTNING Last edited by Musashi; 04-24-2009 at 08:02 PM. |

Glad the oil cooler helped out. I ordered mine from Stillen a couple days ago and I was wondering if you installed it yourself or if you had it installed? If you did the install was it fairly easy and is there any recommendation that would have made the install easier?

For the price the camera is a pretty good deal, clear video.
Really glad to hear that the Stillen oil cooler did the job.

travisjb,
haha it was an LP640, you're right. I don't think he pit, he just pointed for the pass so I went for it, don't know why it was on that line. He likes to ease into it but is a very good driver. The other car was a 430. Too bad I don't have footage of when I passed a GTR. TRU370Z, I did the install on my exhaust and intake, however I have mechanic for those jobs like an oil cooler. It's not an easy install. exo5, its njmp.com membership its relatively inexpensive in comparison to other tracks. it's not open to the public. but you can join a club that gets track time. tbonesteak, don't worry about it just buy the damn car already and tell the dealer to put an oil cooler on. with a few mods it's a great car. |
