Almost convinced to get the 370z..couple of quiestions

So I'm close to getting the 370z but had a couple of hang ups and was wondering how other owners were dealing with the issue.

1. Door handles: I know they are unique to the Z but with the way that they open do you have any issues on a day to day basis when you're carrying something like a drink.
2. Door edges: The door edge which is a bit sharp from the trim sticks out a bit from the window edge. Has it ever cause any issues when you accidently scraped yourself?
3. Accessing behind the seat: I know that I'm not buy the Z for storage but on the models I've checked out there doesn't seem to be a quick way to access the little nook behind the seat for storage. Is the leaning into the car and across the seat to reach the power seats the only way?
4. Rear view - How do you find the visibility out the back? I noticed because of the slope it seems quite limited.

Any advice on the above would be great. Thanks!

I used to have a 350Z so my answers are probably a bit skewed as they are similar in design.

1. No problems, but I typically hold the drink in one hand and open it with the other.
2. Not truly aware of the edge. So I'll say no since I've not snagged myself on anything.
3. Rarely reach back there. The only thing I really keep there is an umbrella. when I do need something I'm typically already sitting so its not much of a reach. Only minor gripe is that since the seat is motorized if you need to lean the back forward it'll take a few seconds.
4. It is limited, but you get used to it. Mirror alignment is key.

If I may say, most of you're issues sound rather trivial. Doesn't sound like you've visited a dealership yet. Why not stop in for a few? Looks like you could answer your own questions without even taking a test drive. Not that I'm saying that cause you WANT to take the test drive.

1. Only issue is the color. I wish it came in gun metallic.
2. Never noticed so I don't think it's a problem.
3. I always grab from the opposite side and reach across because I don't want to change the seating position.
4. Driving forward the rear visibility is fine if you adjust the side mirror correctly. Backing up in a crowded place is a whole another story. So I try to park as$ in first to avoid this problem.

These questions should not hang u up from buying a car. Things like not enough power, low mpg, no back seats, etc should be hang ups. So go buy the car!!!

1. Same as any other door handle, if you can open it with a drink then you can, if you can't then you can't.

2. I've actually hit myself once with the sharp edge when I wasn't paying attention, it hurts, but it's never happened again. The door is long, so it's hard to open and get out if you're in a tight spot, but that's true of most coupes.

3. Unless you're extremely muscular, it's not too hard to reach around behind you. It's kinda like scratching your back. If you need to get something that you want to see, it's best to put the items behind the passenger's seat.

4. You'll get used to it, and you can see what you normally see by tilting your head slightly.

1. Never had an issue. I open the door, then grab my drink from the cupholder.

2. Never had an issue.

3. I have never used that storage area. I keep a little duffel bag in the hatch to easily store/transport small items.

4. What visibility? Just go faster than everyone else and you'll never have a problem. Us sport bike riders use the same solution since our mirrors usually show us little more than our own elbows or arms. Seriously, I got used to having to slouch a bit to see really far behind me (like when searching for law enforcement) and move my head/body more than you would in other cars. You will get used to it, hopefully before you hit something!

Are you looking at a coupe or vert? I used to think my vert didn't have much trunk space until I went to a local cruise night and a guy had a Sky (Solstice). It has no trunk space. I would say the storage area is just what is behind the seat of my vert. Rear vision isn't a big concern when mirrors are adjusted. No issues with door handles o the door, but these things need an additional cup holder when you have 2 people with drinks. The "cup holders" on the door can onle fit small cups. I mean "small" cups. Go to your dealer and test drive one and you will buy.

First of all, welcome to the community! Hopefully the answers you get herein assist with your purchasing endeavors.

1) I have never had issues holding a drink and opening ANY car door. Do you spill your coffee on you when asked what time it is? If so, then you've got bigger issues.

2)I've not noticed any sharp edges on the door, and I suppose that I would've by now as I have limited space when getting in and out while within my garage.

3) I generally keep what I need to grab behind the passenger seat, and don't ever have to tilt it forward or anything. I just grab it while sitting in the vehicle. If I do keep something behind the driver's seat it's not too strenuous to reach behind myself to grab whatever I need.

4)The rear view does take about two minute to get used to. When lane changing, I find that when turning my head to look back, I can see through the back hatch relatively well. Besides that, the side view mirrors are excellent. My '92 CRX was just as bad.

I have to admit that these are extremely minor concerns and not "show stoppers" if you will. You have got to go test drive the Z. I can only assume you haven't because I would suppose that these questions would have been answered.
