When shopping for a used car you can never trust what anyone says about how they drove their vehicle. Lower miles is usually the safer bet, but not always the case. One thing I look for is how well kept the car is inside. I am meticulous about not getting anything inside scuffed or scratched, and the same goes with the outside of the car (but that's nothing a $100+ detail job can't fix). This can tell you how much the previous owner loved and took care of the car. It's just my opinion, when I see scratches inside, it tells me the owner did not love his/her car.

So to put that in perspective... I think I would pay the extra 3k for half the mileage in your situation. Last edited by gbrettin; 06-22-2011 at 11:42 PM. |

I bought in the Winter, January, off of this forum. I had to jump through a lot of hoops to get the deal to go through.
The car was titled in New York There was a lien on the car. I drove out of state twice which took 10hrs round trip. A LOT of trust to make the deal go through (being I had to pay for the loan first before picking it up) In the end. I ended up with an awesome car. |
