Default Really? Am i asking too much?

So i got my 2011 Coupe w/ Sport+Touring about a month ago. I also ordered and paid for with my car, the NISMO rear spoiler.

So first the dealer orders up the one you see in the accessories list online. I said, no I wanted the one that actually comes on the 370Z NISMO car. It’s a little larger, and that’s what I was paying for.

They agreed that for what I paid, I should be getting the larger true NISMO spoiler. So two weeks later they call and leave a message telling me that after much difficulty in figuring out how and what to order to get the correct spoiler in stock, they finally get it, but it’s only the top wing portion, it doesn’t have the parts that hold up the wing and connect it to the car.

All the while I have a 400 car cover on order (they already charged it to my CC) that has been waiting for 3 weeks to take dimensions on the cover, which I can’t give them until I get the damn spoiler installed. Meanwhile the dealer is now in limbo as to what to do. My take on the situation is simple – “Just pretend I had a wreck and you guys were ordering up a replacement spoiler to reattach to the car, paint it, and done.” Is it not that simple?? Am I missing something here? Why could a Nissan dealer/shop not be able to figure out how to order and install one of their own spoilers? A custom car shop could prolly have a surfboard installed on the rear deck in a weekend if that’s what I had asked for.

Any advice?

Bring it to another dealership...?

I'm not saying you are wrong for being frustrated, but keep in mind that Nissan ISN'T a custom car shop. You might be better off actually getting the spoiler from them and having a body shop do the fitting and painting. I know that if I was hell bent on getting a true OE Nismo rear spoiler, I'd buy one from a dealership, or get a body shop to order it from Nissan.

If they keep delaying you, ask for your money back and the spoiler and bring it somewhere else.

On a side note, if you are waiting for a custom car cover, couldn't you find a Nismo locally and measure the difference in the rear? Just a suggestion.

Because the OEM Nismo spoiler is about 2,000 dollars and to order it as if your car was in a 'accident' requires a VIN number to go along side it.

Drink a bottle of tequila man. That's the best advice I could give u. After that, walk into the dealership in drunken rage, ask for all of your money back because this service is bullsh*t, then take your money to a place that doesn't have half-brained morons working for them.

I wish u luck. Now go get the tequila.

its not that hard, I woud get a refund and order somewhere else. You can call Courtesy Nissan parts or Z1 to find out all the parts needed. It's like $2,500 for all the parts from what I recall. You could also get a replica for like $400.

See here for more info:

If I had to guess, I bet they charged him the price for the S-Tune spoiler and not the OEM Nismo. A pretty big price gap between the two. How much did they charge you OP?

Also, I don't know if you know this, but the OEM "true" Nismo spoiler comes unpainted I believe as oppose to the S-Tune which are pre-painted.

Quick question. Do you have the sport spoiler on your car now? Aren't the mounting points different on the NISMO? You may have exposed holes if you didn't custom order your sport pkg to not include the original spoiler.

I have had to "hand-hold" my dealer through a couple of "non-standard" part ordering sessions to get the right thing. They're nice enough to put up with me because I do let them do some of my installs. H3ll, they admit I know more about the 350's and 370's than they do. (They also know if they f it up I'll just mail order it from Courtesy Parts )

they use different mounting points, however the nismo spoiler WILL cover up all the sport spoiler holes. you just have to seal them up (not completley fix them)

i am not 100% sure if the sport spoiler would cover up all the nismo holes, however i doubt too many people are going from nismo to sport spoilers

I deal with Honda and Acura dealerships all day long and they are always really helpful. I can order anything from any car and have it in a few days with no VIN required. I find it weird that Nissan won't sell them to just anyone.

Maybe the OP should contact one of the forum supporters to see if it would be possible to get a true replacement spoiler.

I still say bringing it to the best body shop you can find it the best way to go about getting it installed.

i know nissan doesnt like selling nismo parts to non nismos to keep exclusiveness to nismo owners.
