Pepboys has more variety and usually more of the right parts that I need/use for work. However I have a shop account with Advance and they are always helpful and easy to work with.

If I need like quick car detailing supplies, go to Pepboys... gotta order a part, Advance.

I never go to Autozone.

I went to Autozone to have my SES code read..and the guy walks out with me and says "Man, I am not even going to waste your time, take it to the dealer tomorrow" But if I need non mechanical items like tire spray, rags, etc...i just go to autozone because it is closest.

In Brenham I have AutoZone or O'Reilly, so I go to AutoZone. AutoZone works for me because I know what I need. Because the employees at AutoZone don't know a damn thing about cars or the components in them.

It's pretty much whatever is closest to me when I really need something generic. I stopped buying the crappy over the shelf waxes, polishes, car wash supplies, etc., so I havn't had to go to any of these stores for some time. Some stuff like motor oil for my previous car I actually bought at Walmart or sometimes Costco. If I had to choose though, PepBoys usually has more stuff to choose from.

Car cleaning stuff. I buy it at walmart. They have the same car cleaning stuff as pep boys and autozone. I save an average of $2.00 an item on leading brands like meguier's and turtle wax ice etc... if I can't find it at walmart then I will use those stores.
As far as parts... it just really depends on the part. I deal with like 3 different guys, the dealership or I look online. I don't really use none of those stores for parts. I have yet to see one vendor who has great deals on everything in his shop, so I shop around.

Touche` Unknown370, yea I remember buying parts at autozone when I was 16 and having to return a lot of them sometimes 2 or 3 times, lol.

With my DSM I use extremepsi.com because I have not ever been able to beat their deals, but they only have parts for certain vehicles. They have the 350 so hopefully the 370 soon!!!

Pepboys without a doubt.

i swear, the people at autozone dont even know they work at a car store. If you want some laughs go to autozone and ask for Royal Purple Synthetic Oil, and watch the girl take you to the car wash section and point you in the direction of waxes

I go these local stores when I need spray paint or fuses. I go to Walmart for oils (motor, brake, etc). Target for tire dressing applicators. Not much use for me.
