Ownership of 370z, any problems?

Not a real complaint just a frustrating 1st to 2nd gear shift. Clunky is the only way I can describe it. Getting used to it though. I almost got it

I almost got it figured out, as to the exact rev count to maintain, so as to avoid the clunk

^ my 350 has the same problem. Went with an auto with the 370, which has it's own little quirks.

Even though the engine is directly from the g37 the chassis is completely new and redesigned, not sure if the engine has been tuned any differently from the g37.

Regarding the shift from 1st to 2nd I feel like this is normal for most cars these days. I experienced this in my 335i when I first got it as well. It was extremely frustrating, but after a month of practicing and trying different shift patterns you'll eventually figure out how to shift smoothly.

What is working for you? My Mustang was the same way... a little frustrated to have to deal with it in the Z. Sometimes the 1-2 shift is painfully long for me to avoid the clunk.

It's pretty temperamental. Some days the gearbox and clutch feels absolutely perfect... other days the clutch feels spongy and the gearbox a little notchy. Dunno if it's just me going crazy or if the car is just moody.

Always good to have a car with character, though.
