Many manuals are written for multiple cars, I believe I read about the Altima at one point in a Z manual and the Murano.

I've been reading this thing for 3 days now, I haven't gotten all the way through, but I haven't seen mention of anything but the Z. Also, this is the actual Nissan service manual - not a one-size-fits all Chilton's manual or something. Also, what would a Murano or an Altima have in common with a Z in order for it to make sense to have them both in the same service manual? The only car with common parts would be the G37 right? And that definitely isn't in the manual, at least under the name "G37" anyway.

Not so much they have anything in common directly, though I am sure their are parts (A/C, locks, etc.) that are carried between lines. I have only glanced through the Z manuals (as I do not own one yet), and just noticed an Altima & Murano mentioned at some point not sure what for though.

I've read the articles about this being a possibility for 2012, and I'm really excited. Although I'm kinda pissed to have a good reason to wait, as I'd like to be able to say there's nothing on the horizon worth waiting for. Truth is however that I've wanted somebody to drop a hybrid sport for a while now.
One thing bugs me though - I don't want an automatic, but I don't know if it's even possible to make a hybrid stick-shift. Does anyone have an answer for that? |

Are you sure? I drove one before I even knew how to drive stick. My neighbor was like the first person on the planet to own an Insight because the idiot commuted from northern Virginia to Baltimore everyday. I thought when im going to buy my first car it's going to be a hybrid. Sooooo long story short I just bought a 370..... A hybrid option in a few years would be nice so I wouldnt be such a hypocrite. |

Hybrids are so impractical. Everyone in the "Smart" car / hybrid market should just get a Jetta TDI. It sits 4 humans - comfortably, has a real trunk, puts out 236lb/ft @ 1,750rpms, and gets 41MPG highway.

after hearing about some Hybrid lexus's dying after a heavy rain I think i'll hold off on the hybrids for a while.
I agree with AARC get a TDI Jetta for the mileage. only reason I would get a smart car is if I lived in the city and parking was a bitch, but working in a city with lots of smart cars I still see people every day who have problems parking that car. |
