I just find it surprising that someone can sell a car for 2k OVER what they bought it for. Who wouldn't want to do that? Vehicles depreciate. That's a fact... unless you own a Ferrari or some other exotic or collectible. In the OP's case, it's a 4runner.

If he really DID sell it for 2k over... great... more power to him. Maybe he can share his secrets on how this is possible. I'd like to sell my Civic for more than its worth too.

right now, it's a seller's marker...used car's books are high right now....that's the reason why I'm iffy about getting another car...August 2010 we were selling pre-owned 2009 Toyota Camrys for $10.9k, and last couple months, we were calling those people back to trade their Camrys in for $12k...if you buy your car right, you can always sell it for a profit, hence wholesale to retail...remember this, when you trade in your vehicles, you are trading them in at a wholesale price, and when the dealership sells that car, they are retailing them....

With the situation in Japan after the tsunami, all Japanese manufacturers are hurting and dealerships are running on very low inventory..that's the reason why you don't see rebates and incentives on new cars like you see every year around this time, and that's why there's so much incentives on certified pre-owned vehicles...the Toyota 4Runner is imported into the US, and it's one of the vehicles that will be not coming to the US for several months (maybe beginning of next year), so supply and demand dictates that since we have only 1 brand new 4Runner on the lot and we're not getting anymore in, well if people want a certain one, they will have to purchase used (just like the Prius right now)...

Blue sports are nice in auto and 6spd.

I remembered you trading your Z in on impulse to get the 2010 4Runner just after couple months of ownership. So, I am certain you will trade it off again after you find one.

this is very true. i am waiting until late June/ early July to sell my 08 HondaFit because offers are going up about $150-200 per week.

looks like there's going to be mass shortage on low-end j-cars which is a huge plus for me. :p

more money i rake in later just for doing nothing.

No matter how many cars I sold and or traded I always come back to a Z. For me its like the only car that seems to hold me. Any time I was driving something other than a Z, I kept thinking of the Z the entire time.

Eventually I ended up from a 350z, to 07 civic, to 08 Altima, back to 2009 370z.
The lesson I learned is unless its a upgrade from a Z, I will be disappointed.

I went to look at that blue Z I posted with the black wheels, they are XXR 522 19's...good thing they used OEM sized tires on the vehicle, so the odometer is pretty accurate...but I don't know about them wheels though...I really like the stock wheels...but otherwise, the car is very clean and very good condition, except for the front spoiler, which even I was going to replace mine if I had kept my first Z....

WRONG! There's no SYNCHROrev matching in an automatic transmission...in the 7speed automatic 370Z, they have a Downshift Rev-Matching system, NOT SRM...

SYNCHRO rev-matching and downshift rev-atching are the same exact feature. They are just named differently for each transmission. Since Nissan is the sole proprietor of a manual transmission with downshift rev-matching. They gave it its own name and patent and called it SYNCHRO rev-matching.
If you look up both features by definition, they perform the exact same job. DRM works when you upshift just like SRM. So nissans own description of Downshift rev-matching is inaccurate.

Is it called SRM in automatic transmissions by name? NO
Is it called DRM in manual transmissions by name? NO
Is DRM and SRM the same exact feature and function exactly the same in either transmission? YES

I hope this clears the SRM DRM dilemma. :ugh2:

I don't agree.

SRM holds revs on upshifts to match intended gear, and increases revs on downshifts to match intended gear.

DRM increases revs on downshift to match intended gear, but does nothing special on upshifts. On an automatic, I don't think upshifts take long off for a rev drop past the next gear, especially since there is no skip gear shifting.
