Key fob holder

Hi all,

Presently am using the generic leather key fob holder.

But was wondering if there are other brands out there that make small leather pouches that keep the key fob nice and snug.

My interior is orange but googled and seems Hermes doesnt sell something like that in their trademark orange.

Anyone got ideas?

Fastfatdude 06-05-2011 01:16 AM

LV ? Gucci? Bottega? Anyone?

I have one...you'll like it but not the price...whew! You will want to keep the FOB in the holder as shown...turn it over and it will still press the buttons while in your pocket.

Lemers 06-05-2011 11:07 AM

That is an official JDM Nissan accessory. Importer charge about $100 for it.

Fastfatdude 06-06-2011 03:49 AM

yup.. saw the price.. kinda pricey.

will go shopping around to see if i can get an italian leather equivalent to use.

update soonest...

Tan Chong should have given you a key cover.

happytheman 06-06-2011 06:52 PM

I've gotta be honest...I just spent a good couple of minutes looking for another option...but there was none better to be found. If, however, you do find something else..by all means please let us know!

delusional 06-06-2011 07:13 PM

mines not a leather pouch but just to give you another option you could go with and its WAY cheaper.

NISMO Carabiner + Rubber cover thing. works perfect for me. the whole thing together was about $25.

Hey does the rubber cover attract alot of lint? Thinking about picking one up.

I wrapped mine in Dinoc, but something orange isn't a bad idea...

ProfessorDave 06-07-2011 07:21 AM

Is this the rubber cover you're using: Nissan Intelligent Key Cover (nssnf33) ? Does it help with accidental panic button hits when the key is in your jeans, etc, at all, since the buttons are a little bit recessed?

happytheman 06-07-2011 10:20 AM

Hmm, not only have I gotten an accidental panic button push (when climbing into the Z), but have also gotten an accidental window roll-down 2x. :(

Since I keep mine in my pocket, why would I care about a cover or its' color?
Is the Fob in jeopardy of damage?

Well the fancy leather slipover pictured on the first page supposedly protects the buttons from accidental presses in your pocket. I do it all the time, e.g. I walk in from the garage and sit down and my keyfob presses against something else in my pocket and triggers the panic alarm.

Sadly I know this scenario. It happened in my 300ZX as well. The panic button is so useless. Has anyone saved their life with one yet?

L33T Z34 07-13-2011 11:48 AM

I bought the Nissan Z34 intelligent key case from japanparts.com for ¥6,500 (~$83) a few months ago. I just added this to my cart along w/some other JDM parts for my other cars. I wouldn’t order this alone and pay the outrageous Japanese shipping and US custom costs.

hahahh so true!
I don't think I or anyone I know have ever used it.
If it was a matter of getting attacked or something, wouldn't you just drive away? lol

40TH4ME 07-15-2011 12:13 PM

I've had the same happen to me...slightly embarrasing when the panic alarm goes off. I might get one of those from the jacketstore and just flip the fob around. hardly use the buttons anyways.
