What was the fastest you guys driven?
 

I was wonder what is the fastest you guys driven on your new car 370 or your other previous cars.
This is from the camaro website and some of them went pretty fast. Crazy fast.

175 in my c6 vette.

Low 160's in my '99 WS6 Trans Am, that was the drag limit for the car in my configuration. Really, anthing beyond 140-ish in that car wasn't very stable due to front aerodynamic problems (you could feel weight coming off the front and the steering getting looser), so I only got up in the 160's a couple of times to feel the limit.

^ got to 155 in my 4th gen ws6, and had the same issue. Felt very unsafe.

65-mph...it's illegal to break the posted speed limit, and I haven't found a 70-mph posting yet.

140mph in 2006 Volvo S40 T5. 125 today in my 370Z.

Really? Ours goes up to 75. I also seem to remember 80 in texas.

Oh I didn't indicate a location in my post above. It was at a really, really large track ;)

There are some parts of I-10 that are 80 mph in TX, although none of those parts are very close to Houston. The norm for most major TX highways when out of town is 70 day / 65 night (65/60 for truckers), but there are several that have 75 mph sections as well.

130 in my IS350, "on the track." I had my Yamaha R6 over 160 at Portland Raceway.

One thing that was nice about the corvette club is they would throw a little money around and do things like (occasionally) buy out tracks for us to use. I forget how much we each had to pay, but it was totally worth it to get to stretch the car's legs.

Fastest I've driven is 110 in my BMW325. I could have gone faster, but the car felt REALLY unstable for some strange reason. When I got home I checked out my tires, and as it turned out, the belts in one of them were coming apart x.x.

I haven't had a chance to really open it up on the Z yet. Only gone up to 90.

I ran out of gear in my modded '03 Mustang GT, which would be about 164mph give or take a few MPH.

I hit 110 in the 370z so far.:driving: The fastest I've gone was 150 in a modded Mitsubishi Conquest @ age 17. And I'll NEVER go that fast again. I'm too old, and realize that I CAN die.

132 in my 5th gen civic si..

145 in my 00 eclipse gt is my high score. It actually felt pretty solid believe it or not.

I've also hit 135 on my 01 gsxr but that was really scary. The guy I bought it from said he took out the limiter and had done 175 on it - I found out the hard way he was lying. I was around 13-14K and accelerating when my throttle cut out. Thank God the road was straight and no one was on it.

Over 160 on two wheels

Drove some back roads this past weekend and got up to 105 in the Z. Really wanted to keep going but I only have 400mi on the clock. Trying so hard to be good and break it in half way right.

No Z yet, will order one within a week or two. But fastest I've driven is about 150 in a friends Lotus Esprit Turbo

160 in my old '02 M3 SMG (delimited of course), on the track...my 370Z feels like it accelerates faster to lower speeds, not sure yet if it pulls better at higher speeds too...any past E46 M3 owners here?

I would have to step back about 26 years to an old WW 2 runway in the North of England.

My uncle who was a Part time Rally Driver had a number of fantastic cars in his garage on Sunday's we would head North to take the cars out for a " Stroll " as he would call it.

If memory serves me correctly:

Jaguar e-type = 130 mph

Jensen FF Mk 11 = 140 mph

TVR Vixen S2 = 101 mph


Now in the Z I just purchased. Easily a 100, but just for the odd short spurts.

Not really after the top speed as much as the windy roads, which there are plenty here in the Hill Country of Central Texas.

Modded 05 STi 150 mph.

Somewhere in the low 170mph range in my time attack 350Z at Auto Club Speedway.

I don't know if this counts but when I got a incentive flight on a f16 and the pilot let me fly/drive the plane for like 10 minutes i was going like 500-700 mph.

I have done 135 in a mercedes once... felt as smooth as could be and would have pushed harder but i ran out of road...

135mph in 05 350z while dad screamed like a girl. Will never do it again. Im okay moving slow.

I got up to 140 knots one time in a Cessna 172 on a rapid descent. So that's about 161mph. Yep, and I was behind the wheel... uh I mean the yoke :rofl2:

Ran out of road at 187 in my buddy's modded '90 ZR1.

180 in a de tomaso pantera. blew a head gasket

143 in my wifes Boxster.
145 in my Evo IX.

Only 120 in my 370 but that'll all change come October because I plan on running the Texas Mile. Now that I have been tuned with mods and no speed limiter, it should be interesting. I am shooting for 170.

140 mph in my Saturn Sky RL

Felt stable.

Z is unchartered territory so far......track time is coming.

147mph. stock 07' 350z... since that day, 3 or 4 times 95-105.

155mph in my mazdaspeed3. governed

170 in an E55 AMG and in a built G35

E55s are beastssssss. i was in a friends and u can go 140 feeling like ur just on a normal highway cruise

150 in my Z when I had it. I know the pic reads 146 but the cam took the pic slightly early.

Wow im surprised no ones done this...

I took my 370 to 163 ish. Felt very smooth i wasnt at all scared and it would have kept going but i decided to keep my life.

Hmm I thought all cars have limited top speed... or did you guys all override it?

Anyways, fastest on a car(370Z) was around 120mph whereas 150mph on my ZX-10R.

I thought the 370z was limited to 160mph??? am i wrong?

maybe, didnt seem like it though, the needle was hovering around 160 and it didnt feel like it was stopping. granted, i wasnt there for very long i kind of hit it and started slowing down. Anyone pushed it further?
