Wish Nissan would have more options for Nismo 370Z
I am starting to look at buying a 370Z and really want to get the Nismo edition but really want the entertainment pkg that comes with the Touring edition. I wish Nissan would allow it to be an option to add that system and even have an option to also add Nav. Im very torn between the two. I love the look and extra hp of the Nismo but really like the options with the Touring. Which ever one I get I would like to have it upgraded to Twin Turbo at a later date.

If you have the $ and time just get the Touring and get the Nismo body kit and mod away with better parts for it to boot.

Yep, just buy a Sport + Touring 370Z and add the NISMO body kit and mod to your liking.

just realize that the nismo kit will cost you ~$10k+ with everything
the kit with everything you need (not including paint/mounting/wheels) will run you $6133 shipped from Z1

I had an 09 touring sport MT yellow when they first came out. After 1.5 years of ownership the car was totaled. By that time Yellow was no longer available so I opted to look for blue which was my 2nd choice color originally. In 2009 Yellow was scarce and blue was everywhere. At the end of 2010 when I needed a new car blue was scarce and only silvers and grey and black was an option. My choice was order a blue exactly to spec and wait 3months or get something on the lot. When at the dealer ordering my car they sales guy gave me a real good offer on the black nismo on the lot. I countered going even lower saying that if I was going to get a car that didn't meet my specs it would have to be one hell of a deal. Walked out that night with the Nismo for under invoice.
Having owned both now I would say if both were offered to me I would get the touring sport over the nismo. The nismo is great, the extra power is noticeable but not by much, the suspension isn't noticeably better than the standard Z but is noticeably more rough and rigid. I miss my leather and heated seats and prefer the ride of the standard Z over the nismo. In my opinion the body kit of the Nismo looks fantastic but parked next to a sport Z it looks big and too flashy. The sport Z looks tucked in and stealth like. I thought about adding some of the touring options to my Nismo as aftermarket but it's too much of a hassle. Personally, while it might be financially dumb, I'm probably only going to hold on to my Nismo until the end of the year and get either a 2012 touring sport or might jump ship and go with a corvette grand sport. In the end it's not even the fact that it's a NISMO for why I want to trade it in; the black paint on this car is horrible and I just can't stand trying to maintain it anymore. Not saying my previous yellow was much better but at least it didn't show every flaw like the black does. sorry for the long post |

Tough call. Either way you go you can add just about anything to either model. The stock radio is fine for me but I did add a nav into the center storage. Cool thing is I can pop it out and use in my other vehicle. If you really like the look of the nismo get it and add whatever you want. A TT nismo would be badass. I was looking into a sc or tt but I don't wanna get ahead of myself. Trying to really master the Z before I get more hp that I wouldn't be completely ready for. You can't go wrong either way. I've been looking for a dd and now am considering a auto base model.

get the NISMO and just add an aftermarket H.U. with Navi. Thats what I did in my Z and I like my nav/screen set up better then the factory ones. (I used to sell Nissans as well so I'm pretty familiar with the factory packages and for the money you are better off going aftermarket)

imho there's not enough difference between the nismo and the 370 touring sports. to justify the extra cost. nissan should have made the nismo a super
car. to make it really stand out both in performance and handling... kinda like GM did with the vette..... when you get the z06 you know at once there's a big difference ........... |
