I carry legally with a Bob Mernickles external holster carried on my second belt loop around 4 o'clock and a sweat shirt over it. Wether it's a SIG 220 or 229, S&W 640 or Glock 27, all work in one of his specific holsters. Dillon's Blue Press offers holsters or call him. The gun rides high, here is a pic.

The exact info seems to be hard to come by, not sure why. This list is from 2004, based off of the 2000 census. Only lists out Shall Carry states. Kansas isn't even on here because we didn't become Shall Carry until 2006 I believe. Keep in mind as well, that even those with a CCW permit...don't actually carry our guns around everywhere. I live in the middle of soccer mom land. 10yrs ago you couldn't spit without hitting a mini-van...now it's all SUV's. Nobody is car jacking anyone around here. Very little crime. I'd bet most people don't even lock their doors at night. I believe most people who legally carry around a gun all the time are typically some type of law enforcement or military, past or present. That's just my guess based on what I've seen. 7.45% South Dakota 6.79% Indiana 6.76% Pennsylvania 5.23% Connecticut 5.12% Washington 4.34% Idaho 4.10% Utah 3.86% Oregon 3.45% Tennessee 3.15% Alabama 2.72% Florida 2.71% Kentucky 2.67% Wyoming 2.41% Maine 2.18% Arkansas 2.11% Virginia 1.94% West Virginia 1.76% Arizona 1.75% Oklahoma 1.70% Montana 1.70% Michigan 1.62% Texas 1.39% South Carolina 1.34% North Dakota 1.00% North Carolina 0.86% Mississippi 0.62% Louisiana 0.58% Nevada 0.45% Minnesota 0.36% Missouri 0.33% Ohio 0.20% Colorado 0.17% New Mexico |

You don't know what is going on. You don't have a clue what a situation is about. A mugging or robbery might well turn out to be an undercover narcotics bust for all you know. A CCW permit is not a Superhero card. I never carried illegally. I got my permit, and now I carry. I also do not carry at work as that is illegal. |

i am not a super hero, i understand the law and abide by it, that being said i still say the same. in nc you can open carry, which i think its most states, visible by 3 sides without a permit. i prefer to ccw my weapon as not to advertise it and carry it to defend myself and whoever i'm with. it would be highly doubtful i would ever have to assist someone other than myself/passenger because the Z is so fast everything around is a blur... besides those getting robbed and not carrying are sheep and believe guns are evil things that kill people by themselves

You are not a cop (are you?), and you are not a superhero. I think you took my post to mean "just because you have a CCW..." No, I meant don't go trying to be Mr. Do-good. You won't like where it is likely to get you. |

So you believe that well over 90% of the population is scared of evil and dangerous guns? How do you rationalize the fact that 40% of all US households willingly own and sleep in the same house with these evil and dangerous things? |

Right now I'm carrying a M&P outside waistband holster. I normally carry on the right hand side. While it seems to fit just fine, the seatbelt interferes with being able to draw. Because of that, if I don't have a passenger, I just put it on the seat.
Since there seems to be a lot of curiosity about gun laws, I live in AZ. Both open and concealed carry are legal without a permit. However, the state still has a CCW permit that allows for a couple bonus things. |

Wow...this thread scares me. Didn't know so many of you carry. Then again, I live in Canada. I do have a Swiss Army knife. What's that saying about bringing a knife to a....nevermind.

Knives are brutal. If someone pulled a knife on me I would probably drop my gun and run.

That would suck for you...i'd have a knife and a gun. But then again, I'd probably end up accidentally ejecting the clip while trying to fire. LOL.
