ask your insurance company to setup a meeting withy ou and him so all 3 of you can discuss what happened n one room. he may find it harder to lie with you there. although he could always say no.

Just refuse their settlement / decision when they go no fault.

Supposedly we are a state that doesn't allow for a no fault settlement.

So the latest from the adjuster is that he cant get in touch with the guy who hit me. I asked what happens if they never get in touch with him. He told me that I would then have to make the choice of wether I want to claim it against my own insurance or pay it out of my own pocket. How the hell does that make any sense at all? I swear insurance companies are a scam.

So guys if you ever have an accident where the police wont come out to file a report and it is your fault, just leave the scene and dont answer your phone for any strange numbers. You win!

You said he was with Statefarm as well, so they have his insurance details, it's their own insurance....

Even if he lied about that, it seems you know his car well and that he frequents your workplace. You don't necessarily have to confront him if you see him, but definitely tell your insurance that giving up because he doesn't return a phone call is not an option. If you can figure out his schedule, then you know where he will be and the insurance company can deal with confronting him.

Posting from my phone, so don't feel like going back through the whole thread, correct me if I'm wrong, but you said he is a lawyer right? If so, I would think if he wants to play it that way, given that a lawyer's business thrives on keeping their nose and name clean, as well as word of mouth referrals, the threat of hitting him in the pocketbook by taking out an unethical, yet legal smear campaign might get his attention.

This is absolutely the worst thing to try and do to a lawyer - trust me. You internet tough guys crack me up.

No attempt whatsoever to be an internet tough guy. I could care less on a personal level, as it has no bearing on me. My point was simply that if he's a lawyer, if you do nothing illegal, his business COULD take a hit from you dogging him in certain ways. Obviously targeting a lawyer in some extortion scheme is up there with wearing a KKK robe to a Black Panthers meeting

I hear 'ya, but targeting a lawyer and/or his business is also not such a good idea - it doesn't cost him anything to file a lawsuit against you (and you'll have to pay $ out of your pocket for your attorney, and it won't be cheap). Just sayin'...

I know a few people that were in your situation (same exact for one of them).

It's your word against his. No matter how honest you are, and how much he lies (No one is going to openly admit that it was their fault, especially a damn lawyer). Insurance will call it a 50/50 at fault and you will either have to pay out of pocket or cover your deductible and fix the car.

The adjuster has been calling him for a week and a half now, and he has stilled not talked to him. The guy never picks up or calls back. Kind of wierd.

How about having the adjuster sending him a written statement he has to sign for, saying he is liable and his insurance will be adjusted accordingly.
