I'm curious if there are any programming changes after the recommended 1200 miles. I have heard of other manufacturers bumping up the timing. Does Nissan do anything like this?

Never heard of such. Not saying it doesn't happen. But no, there's no changes to be had. It's good to go.

Ok thanks. As the car sits in the garage now, it has 1201 miles.

The GT500 will not make full boost until certain criteria has been met for the first time. Other than that, i am unaware of anything similar.

As soon as I got out of my dealer at 35 mileage, my RPM was at 7.5k. Couldnt resist it. Of course It was only once or twice before breaking the car in.

You normally will gain some power as the engine internals break in fully, but nothing changes software or hardware wise as the ECU is already fully in control of timing/advance etc and adjusts those parameters constantly to account for driving style and conditions.

Interesting - I've never heard of the dealer/manufacturer re-tuning the ECU after the break-in period.

I now have about 4500 miles on my car. I notice I can bark em going into 3rd. Buttdyno...so.....stuck the gt pro on it...0-60 now is about 4.98 - 5.1 on average apposed to 5.3 - 5.9 when I got the car. 1/4 mile before was 13.8-14 now right around 13.4-13.5. Don't know if it got faster or if I became a better driver....

VQ's are known to get faster/quicker as you pile on the mileage, I have had 5 VQ powered Z's and Maximas total and all of them got quite a bit quicker with mileage!

After break-in you'll need a plastic surgeon to remove the smile off your face.
