Drove 1,431 miles and averaged mpg 26.7 using calculated mileage not the computer. Mostly interstate driving speeds running about 75 mph. A/C on a good portion of the way. In town 19 to 22 mpg depending on traffic. 40,000 miles on the vehicle. Six speed models have a 3.69 ratio rear end IMO the gas mileage is pretty good considering 332 hp.

OK
That's more like it.
If guys are realistically pulling around 26 mpg or thereabouts on US gallons, it puts Nissan's numbers about right at 32, 33-ish for an Imperial gallon. That was a number I figured I was able to live with before I bought my 370. Now I just have to do all my driving in the U.S. 104 |

i average about 22mpg in my daily driving. havent went on a long trip to get a hwy mpg reading yet. i'm skeptical about the 30+mpg claims... it's a 370z not a prius.

I routinely get 28-29 mpg cruising at 80 mph on cruise control (actual calculated mpg). I imagine 30+ would not be difficult if I drove 65-70 and didn't accelerate to close gaps. Definitely not hypermiling - if you are, you should be driving a different car.

So it appears EVERYONE is getting better than my 17 MPG on the highway.
My car just went in for the first service so all the tires have the right amount of nitrogen. Not sure why I am not seeing good mileage like the rest of you. Any one have any ideas?? |

I don't understand how you're all seeing such good numbers. I average 18 on my daily commute, and get no more than 22, 23 on highway. And it's not like I'm always driving like I stole it

You're only going to see the 26+ on those long open highway cruises

I've done a 1300 mile trip and never saw over 23. Come to think of it tho, the car was loaded to the brim.. sounds like road trip time

Typical culprits are high-ish fuel trims (any CEL's?) due to either MAF or O2 misreads, which can be caused by air turbulence from vibrations or bends in the intake set-up, flagging or dirty sensors, vacuum (and exhaust) leaks, failing cats, etc. FWIW, mostly city driving, tuned and LTH putting down around 310-315 whp, and I see a very consistent range of 19.2 to 19.5. I creep up on 20 - 21 or so with mixed highway driving, but lately I'm 95% stop-and-go. However, I was briefly dropping to a pitiful 16-17 mph, and it turned out to be a bad heater circuit on the primary O2 causing it to not get up to proper warm-up temp.
