I always thought TPMS came standard, was talking about it with my buddy today and he swears it was/is an option? Can anyone clarify?

All light motor vehicles sold after 9.1.2007 must have TPMS. However, many manufacturers, including Nissan, offered it as either standard equipment or as an option on different models/trim levels.
