Hey... anyone modding there Z's?
 

In recent weeks the chatter of comparisons to other cars has increased 200%, while actual Z only threads have decreased by 90%. I was just wondering if anyone has modded, tracked, or is doing anything bodywise or mechanically to there Z.

Me i have been at the track getting the best stock times possible. So far I got 13.03. It was 77 degrees 15% humidity on a clear sunny day at around 11 am. My engine was at 170 degrees

My first mods will be upgrading my sport brakes, along with stillen intake and FI cat pipe.

After 14 months of ownership I am about to cross the 5000 mile mark and the modding shall begin. Called yesterday to book dyno time for a baseline pull and then the CNT high flow cats are going on and we will do another pull to check the increase.

Thinking Stillen G3 is the next mod.

Kool beanz... Z1 motorsports has the G3 intakes with color powdercoats and matching silicone hoses. I'm definately going that route. I want red and blue mix in the engine while my exterior is silver. I think it will look kool.

I got the Fast Intentions CBE just about a month ago and loving it.

Told myself nothing the first year but that lasted long. Besides come cosmentics like the EVO R CF Fangs and GTR push start...nadda.

I think the next thing I would do is the HP MAF hoses and K&N drop in's as I'm worried about loosing low end torque

I spent a few grand on mods in my Z back in the day. Even overnighted a few lugnuts from Fontana Nissan. :rofl2:

Silly question on the GTR push start. Does it light up at night like the stock push button?

The text lights up.

It's really sweet. Looks sharp and it feels better. The kind of metallic red color is "high class" and it feels a lot better to the touch than the milky white stock button, which is very generic and somewhat cheap feeling. For $35 or so and 10 minutes of your time to install it makes a BIG difference!

I also have some Nismo springs to install, which I hope lowers the car .05inches and I'm thinking might help my launch since they are stiffer than stock :confused:

last thing I did was the custom interior: seats, door cards, head rests, floor mats, shift knob and boot leather, and GTR start button. lol it was a lot.

next I'm looking into audio upgrades and maybe an exhaust or wheel spacers.

Last actual mod was swift springs. Last change was just modifying the alignment to get a bit more feel.

Did you add more camber to your Z?

I left the fronts at 1.5*, rear was taken down to 2.6* from 3.3*. Biggest change was setting the front to zero toe.

Dang when you run it at the track you should write up the results of your new alignment. Give like a before and after in your own thread? :)

I will. Might be a while, since the next event at VIR is after I move. Not sure how much track access I will have in the future.
