your engine should be handled under warranty, your dealer should have offered you a loaner that would have been incredibly slow but very good on gas.

its not about the car, they are replacing your engine under warranty work, they should provide you with a loaner car to drive until the work is done. this is standard practice. if you mentioned that you had another car to drive they would likely not bring up a loaner car though.

I'm curious - since you ran low on oil (which is normally a maintenance issue), why is the engine replacement being handled under warranty? Did you have a documented case of too high of oil consumption?

My car was serviced at my Nissan dealer the only thing i did is press the start button and ride! under the hood i let my dealer do the work.

sounds like you're getting your moneys' worth. :)

gl with the repairs!

Westwood 05-14-2011 10:16 AM

thanks! cant wait to break in that new engine.

brado 05-14-2011 10:39 AM

after installing my test pipes im worried that something like this might happen to me because my dealer said that they wouldnt warranty my engine if something went wrong now that ive installed them. also what is the warranty? i thought when i bought the car the dealer told me 3 year 36000 miles. the tech that changed my oil thursday told me it had 96000 on the powertrain?

Westwood 05-14-2011 12:29 PM

Not sure about the the test pipes tho but i got the Berk's hfc's and they havent said nothing about it.

They said they don't like it if take the stock cats off. If I run into a problem I guess ill just put stock cats back on and prretend I never had test pipes.
