We already pointed out that your figure of 3.8x is totally whack. Why are you still assuming that the 19bhp is right?

Its not wrong. Is the sport 331 hp? Is the nismo 350? Difference of 19 hp. That has been dynod as approx. 5 whp from people who have put on a nismo exhaust on a sport. So thats where my info is comin from...

Also, wouldn't an AT loose more than the MT

Dizon248 05-11-2011 01:40 PM

So you're telling me that the only thing thats giving the NISMO edition the 19hp advantage is the exhaust? Aren't there other things to the NISMO that gives it that extra 19hp?

Or the 5whp figure is wrong, something is wrong. There is no way there can be more than 300% differences between whp and bhp.

And what do you mean 24whp is only going to add 4bhp?. It is 28bhp. Your logic is confusing the crap out of me.

It would add more than 4 hp to the 24 whp that is dyno'd.

It's not adding 4hp, it's adding 28.........

Its 24whp or 28bhp. Take your pick.

Again, it looks like you're basing your "facts" off that 19bhp 5whp BS. There is no f'ing way that 19bhp is only going to give you 5whp, that is a factor of 3.8x like someone mentioned. If i had a 300whp care and converted with that 3.8 factor, my god..... I'm pretty sure there is more to that 19bhp than an exhaust. You're getting the 5whp from just an exhaust, or converted roughly to 6bhp.

When you guys finish sorting this out I'd like to know how many whp and bhp my NISMO plate frame buys me. It's stainless steel powdercoated black if that makes any difference... super durable.

Probably 25whp for the frame, and an extra 10 for the black powdercoat. I've found the license plate frames give almost as much whp as the nos stickers on my windshield.

Summary

Whp = bhp*(1-0.17)

bhp = whp / (1-0.17)

This as far as math equations go is correct, as far as the specific problem I can't say how accurate the equation is. The previous posts were really bothering me, yes, I am an engineer....

Nevermind its over your head. My point was, if the gain of 5 whp or 19 bhp shows a difference of 14, how does 24 whp have a 28 bhp, having a difference of only 4. Get it?

Yeap, I'm still trying to figure out what's up with the OP's post. 19bhp difference between the NISMO and the normal edition. The OP said people slapped on a NISMO exhaust onto the normal editions and only got 5whp. NISMO edition =/= normal + NISMO exhaust. NISMO edition probably has a tuned engine too to boost that bhp figure to 350.

The reason why I say that the NISMO editon =/= normal + NISMO exhaust is because 19bhp =/= 5whp. No way in f'ing hell.

It's not over my head, I'm saying that 5whp and 19bhp is bs. OMFG!!!!

5whp only nets you 6bhp.
