Mine does it too, but doesn't bother me in the least. But the rattle from the rear hatch is driving me insane!

Are you guys referring to the whine when you start up in ACC? Do you hear the whine for a couple of seconds when you go back to OFF?
It could be the drive-by-wire throttle. Our cars, like the G37, still have e-throttles. It does a self test when you first turn on your car, and you can hear it go back to home position when you turn it off. That's the only whine I would notice besides 1/2 gear whine lol. |

In any case, it doesn't really bother me, but I do hear it, and I just wanted to track down what the hell it is. |

I notice a possibly similar noise. It is an intermittent high pitched whine that seems to be coming from the center dash behind where the nav system would be (I don't have the nav system or sports package, pretty much just the basic touring). I hear it only when moving and it does not vary with engine speed or car speed. Road noise does not cover it up. It sounds like one of the highest frequencies I hear on a commercial airplane when flying. It can continue for minutes or hours and stop for the same random amount of time. It isn't my tinitus as I can ignore that and it will go away, but it has a similar pitch and doesn't go away! Really kills the enjoyment of driving the car.
