Default 370z vs G37X Coupe

Can't stand the waiting any longer, deposited 1k on Feb 11th and still have no idea when it will be shipped, dealer is clueless. So I started looking for alternatives and quite like the G37X Coupe. I have been qted 39,583 for a AG with nav, pre, woodtrim. Now thats a nice price for a car of this quality. Has anyone driven one? I'm older then most of you fellows (56) and perhaps a car not as focused as the Z would be a better choice. Anyway thanks for any feedback you can give me

I love my G37 coupe, and that's a good price quote. Compared to the 370Z I test drove, the interior of the G is quite a bit nicer, but its less connected to the road. The acceleration isn't much different feeling, but I'm sure the Z is a bit quicker. Since you're older, I would pick the G if you are looking for a daily driver, Z for a weekend car. Either way, you can't lose. The VQ37 is great and the updates to the trans/suspension are wonderful.

I owned a 05 G35S and test drove the G37xS. The G37 is great sporty car with the same engine as the 370Z. It comes with more creature comforts, is quieter but still goes quick when you put your foot down. The Z is definitely quicker no question, but it comes down to a personal preference between comfort and performance.

As an every day driver I would take the G37x no question, especially given your location. You don't get a lot of snow on the cape but you can still get a fair bit. The AWD system works well, and amazingly well with the right tires. If you took the Z you would have to consider what you would do in the winter.

g37x has the same ATTESA AWD as the GT-R.
but it all comes down to either wanting a 2 seater with manual transmission or an 4 seater with only automatic available.
oh yeah and styling preference counts too lol.

If the g37x was available with a manual then i'd be all over it. Really stupid move from nissan not making the g37x auto only.

Went to the Infiniti Dealer yesterday, if you want to call it one. Looked like a tractor shop, did'nt even have a showroom. Drove a G37X and must say I was a bit disappointed. Of course I could'nt really get on it because of the suck *** roads and the 35mph traffic fuster cluck. So I was'nt able to get a good read on it. The price was great, having the Premium, Nav,wood, pkg for 39,852. almost 6k off MSRP. So I have decided to wait it out and get the the Zed when it arrives, Thanks for the feedback.

I have to take exception to this statement. Hell, I've got nearly ten years on the OP and mine is my daily driver (6,492 miles on the odometer as I write this). Age is irrelevant and BTW, here's my weekend ride.

If you want a 370z i see that your from the cape. call Quirk Nissan in quincy and ask for jerry dao. Ask him what vehicles he has coming inbound. I know they have a couple there but they have the largest nissan in new england i used to work there. He should be able to tell you what he has inbound and all the specs.

Perhaps you should read the OP again. He mentions his age being a factor and considered the G37 because he didn't want something too focused.
