I was just wondering if the new Z can be converted to use E85. Imagine with 105 octane. Probably a nice HP boost.

Either way, there IS a thread on using E85 and what'd be required to do it properly in this car. The long and short is this: 1) The entire fuel system would need to be gone over to ensure there was nothing that'd break down under the presence of alcohol. 2) New injectors - doubtful the stock ones could deliver enough fuel (safely), since with E85 you need to burn about 1/3rd more fuel to get the same power. 3) Possibly, a new fuel pump to support the increased fuel consumption 4) A system that can detect the alcohol content in your fuel, and adjust your tune/fuel consumption based off of how much actual ethanol you have in your system. Winter mixes of "E85" end up being lower in the end. Something to the tune of E70, so Ive heard. Never mind that even true E85 can vary ethanol content all over the place just by going from one station to another... Point is, its a lot of hassle for not much in a stock motor. Now, under plenty of forced induction, thats a different story...but then you'll need to make sure your bottom end will even hold the power gains you'd see from the FI on normal fuel, never mind the extra boost you'll get running higher octane E85 The long answer to a short question, right? lol

How about biofuel. That could also boost HP. The koenigsegg biofuel get over 1k bhp because of using biofuel. That's amazing.

"It is natural to expect a substantial gain in power when optimising the engine for E85(biofuel) instead of Petrol. Still the actual gain obtained even surprised the enthusiastic engineers at Koenigsegg." E85 IS BioFuel. At first I thought you meant BioDiesel heh.

When you're running tight tolerances (read: high compression ratios), its not wise to run a fuel who's octane rating can be across the board. Does Japan even have E85 at all? If not, theres your answer right there, being a Japanese-made car...
